for me....im with southern motors....

price for michelins is 480 with install n balancing...

price for metzelers will be ard 350-380...

for pirellies is ard 520-550....

seems to me u got yrs of riding /driving...

it seems to me that wen i pull hard all the way to redline...there a cut of petrol consumption (a while) n flames (i think) (coz i saw flashes reflection)...AT THE BACK OF ME...ard the pipe area...

why/ wat is tat....

any dangers to the engine bike...

for me...the bike jerk (not violent) juz enuff to scare the ballsz in mine....

It's doesn't matter how fast you can go, becos at the end of the day it's the size of your bike that counts.

But it does matter how low you CAN go, becos in the end it's the size of your BALLS thats counts.

if it "flame + sound" then it common known in turbo car as "back-fire"

 

"back-fire" in layman term,

 

the engine is workinf so HARD that some "un-burn" fuel are been throw out/flow along into the exhaust system. since the exhaust is HOT & working hard too...if the Heat is high enough...the fuel+air will combus INSIDE the exhaust.normally happens when the throttle is sudden SHUT.(since air from engine is not pushing put as hard ...the fuel+air will stay longer inside the exhaust system.

 

Sounds Nice...but the price to PAY is............the exhaust muffler "packing".

 

AND....the exhaust "metarial" lifespan will reduce.SINCE the exhaust was never design to "contain" the power of fuel combustion.the metarial will weak....(common sign of metarial weaken is "hole" "leak gusket"

 

IF only Flame & no sound.

 

the exhaust must be VERY free-flow...cos the fire could come from the exhaust area & ur throttle is WIDE open(aka air is been push out from the engine) !

 

it like lite-up a ligther & spray harispray/insert rept into the flame...it create a BIGGER flame.

 

looks cool.....but make sure u no pilion or nothing at rear which will caught fire hor.

while i hear no sound or watsoever...flashes conferm on liao...

only heard the engine sound though..loud...

only concern me is y the petrol being cut (a while) while 'banging' oh hard leh...

one thing leads to another....thats wer im concern...

high chance ur igination has been cut.(very common method used by japs for REV cut/boost cut/speed cut).

 

but be-cos...the engin cant just shut-down...that would create a sudden loss in power which may lead to un-balance the bike & creat accident.

 

so the "softer" way is to cut igination & dump fuel....so unburn fuel are been "push" into the exhaust.

 

it like "heaven,earth & human" factor....all three condition met...and u will see the flame lor.

WOOoOOOohhh...wen is the due date for the change of packing eh...

not very sure of big bikes....but for small bike..

eg RXZ....easy access to open n 'refill' the packing....

im always confused bcox i tot BS is suppose to carry jp specs....but the bikes displayed there r euro colors

 

i think i hv seen 05 cbr6 jp specs at mah b4...full black

they even offer me to mod the bike so that the power cut wont comes in at 180kmh, if i decided to buy from them...

is there any power cut for the newer versions of RR....

coz newer versions....of S4 SPEC III....(super 4) have power cut....unlike version S...(earlier models)

for mine.....im not sure myself....but being able to run my bike @ almost 275km/h on stock (VIRGIN) considers no power cut ehh...

BTW....i'm on 03/04 model...

forgive my poor skill with photoshop.

 

the above pic is taken from GPR legal exhaust.

 

from the above 3 point.

 

point A - thats the "mesh material" refer as "packing. the main role is to "dim" the noise

 

point B - thats the metal rod with holes.the hole is for the exhaust air to flow into the mesh.

 

point C - thats the design of a inner tube to "lower" the rate of exhaust gas.the "lower" rate the gas flows...the less noisy it would be.(different mfg has different design)

 

*Pro & Con -

Pro- this muffler WERE design to be legal in mind.

Con- it aint the "Easy way out" design like some...which use just a bluffer cap.so it aint a full-race can.

 

*stock muffler packing will last for years.but it heavy lor.while "aftermarket" can which boost "light-weight" "race sound" just use a "thinner" mesh metarial nia...or something add in some rare metal(TiT,MAG).

 

*No right no wrong...just personal perference on aftermarket Can.:thumb:

IF JDM spec..then YES ,cfm 180km/hr speed cut.it a (causua)law in jp.which was enforce by de jap mfg but not in black & white by japs gov.

 

it something like beemer/merc/supercar in germen..they "limited" it to 250km/hr.it a common understanding but not a law.

 

Boonsiew bike shd be UK-euro spec. i cfm mine was a UK spec.

 

dig out ur log card & look at the chasis no -> it shd look like this --> JH2-PC37-A2-5-M-222222(this my ViN actualy with fake serial number-last 6 figure)

 

decode to find out where/what ur bike were made for.

 

JH2 -Honda Japan

VTM -Honda Spain

YC1 -Honda Belgium

ZDC-Honda Italy

1HF -Honda U.S.A.

3H1 -Honda Mexico

9C2 -Honda Brazil

 

PC37 - this is the actual factory product code for our RR5.

 

A2 - this is "check sum".no use.
