can help me by trying this on your bike, start your bike(make sure your bike is 100% cool off,like you leave it overnight).Let the bike idle till the temp show 80 to 83,during that range did the temp drop by 2 to 3 degree?Cause i wan to check if my thermostats is faulty.

Hi guys... I intend to get a cbr600. Can u guys enlighten me on some issues? Am intending to get either a 1st hand (2012 model) or an 08 model (saw one at shop in good condition).

1st issue.... I'm currently riding an R1 n had sat on a new cbr n find it's posture damn comfy coz of a more upright sitting position.

Is the riding posture for the 07-08 same as 11-12?

2nd issue.... Was informed by one of the bike shops that the newer cbrs (those with a covered clutch housing) have lower horsepower. Is the lack of power that much of a difference? Top, mid or low end is the power lowered?

Which should I go for???? Price diff abt 6k.

cbr600 have the most comfortable riding position as compare to other sport bike... 2ns 07-12 cbr doesnt really make any diff in HP as most of them is the same.. if u feel that 1-3HP make alot of diff to u than get whatever bikeshop say have a higher HP.

 

getting new or 2nd cbr it really depend on rider, some feel that is ok to get a 2nd hand as can save time and trouble to run in and mantain and etc... some prefer to be new as they dont wan any problem that happen during the moment they have their bike..

The riding position is the same for 07-12 as the bikes are almost exactly the same. Either the old ones or the newer ones will be lacking in power compared to the R1 so it won't make any difference.

 

The newer bikes are supposed to have stronger midrange and down slightly on the top end. They're also a bit lighter. Since the bikes are about 90% the same from 07-12, buy whatever you like / fits your budget.

Well I guess the posture is a great attraction for me to the bike. Now that u guys confirm it then at least I know that it's not my own judgement as compared to my r1. Means e bike really has a good riding position!

 

I intend to downgrade to a 600cc as I find it difficult to utilize the power of a 1000cc. 600cc is more than sufficient. During my hunt for a cbr, one of the sales person tells me to not buy e new cbr as it's HP is lower. He said that an 07/08 is a hot model ppl are looking for. That's y checking with u guys on how bad of a low is that sales person talking about??

Probably just another typical salesperson who knows #$%-all. By that measure you should go buy a ZX6R - that is the most powerful 600 you're going to find right now...

tangs - i can go max full tank before res at 290km and full tank with res max so far i went is 340km but usually average is 320km

 

braggadocious- i agree with colacin that it shld just another sale person who try to sell his cbr, anyway as we have say it really depend on rider how u look into this. Well if u r looking for power go for r6 or zx6 (older model) if u looking for comfort and daily ride than cbr or gsxr is also ok.
