PS. Local can do it you if you give him a sample and take time.

ya local sure can do 1.

but who will want to buy a original radiator?

lolz...at $784...it quite ok price la...in compare with a HKS FMiC @ 1.9K...lolz

but then...local bike scene is unlike cars lor.

*another thing would be flow rate.with de expended volume...the water pump will work dbl hard or de stcok lump pressure may not flow the coolent faster enough.

Hi hockie69

Water flow can be control by the themostat mah.

Big hole small hole only.

Furthermore I took out my thermostat some time ago and make it flow one way.

Thanks

themostat only control the "open/close" of valve bewteen the engine block & radiator.

my "water pump" concern is base on that.the stock design water pump MAY just be enough for the stock radiator volume + engine block aka 3.1L(as stated in manual)

but IF assume a bigger radiator is used.the total volume of the overall cooling system may exceed the designed volume(3.1L).as such, the liqud pressure may drop which indirect result in slow flow rate.(if remove the thermostat will atless a better result since the cooling system is always open, slow flow rate would still result in lower temp)

too much heat loss in cooling system also not good for performance leh.

Hi hikaru.

Yeahhhh some call it sub radiator or

add one more radiator but still one paice missing leh.

The sandwich plate to channel the engine oil

out from the engine to the additional radiator and

the return back to the engine.

Any advise?

Thanks

in japan they have the engine oil cooler which mount below the radiator .But is mostly for naked bike , have not seen one for fairing bike yet .

Did you all feel that your CBR600RR5, the clutch rattling noise is quite bad during idling?

I feel that it is too audible if compared with some other bikes when engine is in working temperature (80+degree celsius). Mine is noisy from the 1st day I took from showroom. It's normal.

I saw some discussion in 600rr.net forum. Some owners also mentioned about this.

Need some expert view. No opportunity to compare with some other RR5s.

Thanks!!

i've just installed my alarm, diy.

for ppl who are not so skilled in diy like me, i tell you now bring ur bike and alarm to ur regular mech and pay $30 to install and save urself all the hassle.

the problem is not the alarm, its our bike.

ideally, the alarm shd be placed under the tank.

i got as far as the air duct cover before i gave up. to remove the tank, must remove seat followed, by side cover (that matt black piece), followed by air duct cover then ur tank. when i reached the air duct cover, i removed all the bolts/screws/clips i could see, but the cover wouldn budge. at this point, especially after finally removing the side cover, i realize all the panels got 'trick' one: u must firmly push the panel in one direction to unhook it from the other connecting panels. u force it out, or u push wrong direction, thats it u'll have a panel with a broken hook..... plus all the stupid plastic clips which also got 'trick' to remove. i'm tellling all the diy idiots like me here now, best for you to find a laojiao and watch him remove the panels before u do anything. i could have easily damaged my side cover, luckily i didn. furthermore, our panels are not the same as the RR3/4, so the RR3/4 service manual we got here is next to useless.

so anyway, i gave up trying to remove the tank, so i dun even know got space there anot.

next try: left fairing, center cowl. it looks spacious, but dun be fooled, my unit is the size of about one and a half ciggarette packs (see pic in link i provided previously), and already its a tight squeeze, including all the wires. there is a slight gap between panels when i bolt the fairing back on.

so now wats the problem?

1) in the fairing, its exposed to the rain.

2) anybody who knows the alarm is there, and knows how the wiring works, can find a way to disconnect the alarm by pulling/cutting the wires. i routed my wires under my spar frame then under the side covers, difficult to disconnect by pulling/cutting, difficult but not impossible.

3) at the fairing, at lower sensitivity levels, u can actually rock the bike, sit on it and bounce, the alarm wont go off; yet a gentle tap at the fairing where the alarm is, and the alarm starts screaming.

so there u go. get it fixed at the shop, unless ur uncle hock or superbike.

btw, the alarm is actually dam simple. u only need the alarm, u dun need (or rather cant) use the other functions like remote start and apparently not advisable to wire it to the lights. so all u need is to connect red and black wire to batt, end of story. its not the alarm, its the bike.

Yeah, i understand how u feel. But i guess that's how fairing bike works.

I just ripped off my front, side and lower cowl few days ago to send my fairings to spray shop. I got no idea how different RR5's fairings is from my RR4, but i got a hard time taking out the front cowl. Now i know y regina refuse to install front signal lights for ben liao. Definately need to be careful and have lotsa patience.

I also dropped a few screws in the battery area while taking the battery in/out, now want to buy those extend-able pointer with magnet to take it out, :sian: Also took out the tank cover while trying to retrieve the screws. But useless, still can't get the screws. Saw the real fuel tank and understand the mass centralise thingy claimed by honda. :thumb:

Taking out fairings are usually so much more easier than putting it back. I expect to spend the whole day to put everything back when i collect my fairings. :help:

yah..... like i said, anybody diy first time and donno how the panels shd be removed, dun do it. watch someone do it before attempting to do it urself, it is very easily damaged if u get it wrong.

I'm just respraying the scars. Back to original black as i am still loving it. No extra money to respray a brand new scheme anyway, rather use it to buy things like helmet and stuffs.
