Well, Mr Lee did say mine was the first ZZR1400 to roll out of his shop.... I will be gone for years, maybe forever! Where I'm going, theres no place for hypersport or even sportbikes, so gotta downgrade....

 

Anyway, as for your brakes, its normal because the brake pad does not bite onto the entire 'wavy' part of the disc. Best to use original pads to prevent abnormal wear on the brake discs!

To me the stock 021 pretty ok. Good grip but tendency to loose air as it wears nearer to the limit..........

 

You disk wear could be due to your botak pads, so far got feedback from the other GTR riders using stock pads still ok except to keep an eye on the pads cos a bike of this weight will tend to wear faster.

Help! Help! Help!

 

I've been riding my GTR 14 for more than a yr now but have not done anything to my bike except for normal servicing. Just came back from a trip & now in need of help to do up my bike e.g changing of windshield, exhaust pipe, seat & mount a few accesories but do not which type/brand to change to. Can somebody help me please? Really ur generous & kind help....

i tink it`s pretty hard to get the stock brakes pads.

been using BrakeKing... wears really fast..

now just changed to EBC... hope will be better..

 

P.S i thought i was the last stock GTR in sg...

seems like i got a fren... ( in stock ) hahaha..

The poison will run deeper if you mix around with these guys. Suggest you start saving up.....

What I did was order the pads way in advance, rather than last minute. At least I know when my pads blew I got a set ready. Why not you just organise one 1400s outing rather than wait for someone to do it?

 

My set of PR2's waiting for me since Mar 10. Will change it before the big trip.

I wouldn't mind if the prices r approriate... If not ar, 1 mth eat grass... Cos I believe it's time for me to unleash my beast... Would be nice if someone can help me...

P.s Back to the wheel,

 

i tink the stock tires are pretty lousy..

fast wear and poor grips...

any change will be significant over the old tires..

 

just a side note. my discs are worn out too, actually kinda surprised too..

each side is almost 0.5 mm worn on each side..

hmmmm... got meet up then i show u all..

but it`s like really kua zhang...

 

stilll tinking should i do a valve clearance at 40 000 km??

only 1.5 years old lehz...

Opps.....hahahah...i already poison three Gtrians. Only Aurium has successfully block my poisoning so far. I added few more blings blings already. wahahahah

all the things you mentioned i have changed already. hahahah....

 

hmmmm... you should go for things that will improve road safety first. Comestics later. I have spent 10k on accessories already. Corbin seats and stuffs being the most expensive wan.

 

Perhaps you can go for a pair of HID conversion kits. Low beam halogen. High beam HID. Works superbly well on NSHW and really dark dark road.

plugs and air filter already...

 

not to mention EO and oil filter as well..

chop chop order b4 it gets serious, by snail mail it takes abt 2mths to arrive.

 

if its serious enough, u can have my set waiting at the shop.

What are the safety improvement do you mean? Could u help in giving some ideas? Would really appreciate it...

I will list down the items you can change and you determine for yourself:

 

1. Swap the Bazooka to a aftermarket. Remus/LV (legal) Akrapovic/2 bros (illegal)

2. Swap you windscreen to a bigger piece. MRA/Ermax/Original Kawa

3. Change you seat to a aftermarket. Corbin/Rusell.

4. Install a PC V for fuel management.

5. Swap you plastic fan to a alu fans. Muzzy

6. Swap you stock shocks to a aftermarket. Ohlins/Hyperpro

7. Fill in yourself................... Depends on what you want....

Actually, that is not far from the truth. I feel much safer on my ZX14 than any other bike I've ridden.

I think the biggest change is touring style. Malaysia must be the last country in the world where one can ride sportbikes properly, we're so lucky!

 

Imagine cruising along at 110km/h cross interstate distances, no faster! I don't know if I can handle it.

i tink my discs still can use..

 

just tt maybe i`ll need to look out for parts soon..

am thinking of making a trip to KL to look for part, accessories.

saw tons of GTRs and ZX 14 up there..

i`m sure they have some specialist shop supporting these bikes..

 

anyone know where these msia bikers frequent?

i`m sure it`s near KL/ipoh as i always see them there..
