Heh. No problem. FJR is equally good! Anyway CMYRS and Advrider can give you more insight comparison on GTR with Sports Bike and others. Because they ridden different bikes before getting the GTR.

i believe u pretty much summed up the pros & cons.

sports vs naked vs adventure vs sports tourer, I liked every experience

they each have their attributes.

it really depends what the rider wants

there is really no bike that can do it all.

but i find the heat and weight issue manageable GTR

for a 1.4L, i find it runs alot cooler than say a 1L L-twin which is also water cooled.

the 22L tank usually is sufficient as my butt screams for a stop way b4

btw, have u dynoed yr bike after u installed the ecu?

Hi nazzi

You've ridden the Kawa bikes before and you know that spares are a pain in the arse to buy. Especially the agaent's support. No cash no talk, worse they don't even have nets or credit card facilities. It's full cash term.

Go buy a BMW RT, FJR or STX for longer touring range. Also the GTR is not the best touring bike around. The tank is bloody small size of a super 4. How to call a touring bike when it's only 20L? It's heavy when fully loaded. For your information if you wanna pillion on this bike it's also an arse problem with the pillion. The panniers are mounted too high thus for the pillion to go up and down it's a problem itself. The pillion footpeg are mounted too high thus will cause knee pain for longer distances.

But if you do want sports bike performance on a touring bike this is the bike to get. Heat issue on the 2010 had been resolve by Kawasaki removing the sponge and wider air vent.

That's just my personal opinion.

advrider, how come your tank is only 20L?

strongly agree on the nevershine backup support, or rather the lack of it.

thank god for the internet, i wonder how the guys in the 80s get their parts?!?!

Theres still the BMW K1300GT to think about. Same power as the GTR, more toys than the R1200RT!

the K1300GT sound like another good option.

5hp more

tank 2L bigger than GTR

dry weight 25kg less than GTR

front discs 10mm larger

rear discs 25mm larger

duolever, paralever

Thanks bro! Do let me me know if the guy not getting it... By the way, how does it look like? I'm actuaaly looking for something similar to this:

http://www.corbin.com/4sale/concours2.jpg

Yes, dats the one just plus the pillion seat n dildo looking backrest minus the box.

BTW really no one wanna go JB KAwa take a look this sat??

no one at all?

I might go but I would drive there, if theres spares and stuff, can just chuck it in the car if cant carry or install on the spot.

this bike eats mileage and long distance like nothing.

my return trip from phuket took a continous 29hrs with only petrol and bad weather stops.

wow.

i shall offer you the Singapore Royal Salute !!!

`SEBEI POWER LA!`

dont salute me, its the GTR that deserves the credit, I basically just sat on the bike n held the throttle. :p

u should try it, do Sin to BKK in one hit. :cheeky:

I did Singapore - Huahin, about 2 hours more to BKK.

Its possible, but I don't recommend it. I was alone, so was able to cross Malaysia in 6 hours. Thailand roads are not to be rushed.

it took us so long because we were going too slow in bad weather.

ended up an endurance challenge of slow speed and lack of sleep.

Yes, exactly. I was lucky, I was alone and didn't have a drop of rain. Still, it took me nearly 18 hours to reach HuaHin.

Best to plan no more than 6-8 hours riding time per day, to avoid fatigue, especially for less experienced tourers.

Hello Guys, need help... Drop my bike yesterday lucky got a pole on the side, so not whole bike laying flat on the road.

Kena clutch, LH switch crack (can't on the ECO mode), glove box crack also..

Should I order parts frm Loois or order online better?

If get frm US the switch cost about US$155 n glove box cover US$55.

So hw should I order online?

Sorry to hear about your bike.

Best to check with nevershine for price estimate.

I believe their next batch of goods coming in is somewhere in June.

Then compare against Kawa JB.

So u have 3 options at the end of the day for price and shipping duration, good luck!

Consider it a farewell tour :)

This I agree with you a 100%. Not for the faint hearted to travel at night too. I've known many many so call top riders in Singapore got into serious accident in Thai roads.

Oops guess I had the mindset since the day I got the bike. I've got no chance to even try the reserve light.......

The guys in the 80s depended on the so call distributor..... It's already 1/2 of 2010 and they still think they dominate the spares...... and whole world depended on them.

Bro if you want we can help you place order for the parts you want from the JB shop. Have to place some deposit though. Check the prices for the parts here in Nevershine 1st and how long they will take to arrive. Get the part number as well. Then I can check the prices and the arrival period there in JB and give you a call. You decide then. The shop is open on Sunday. They only close on Tuesday.

If you're riding a bike but not calculating the 50 possibilities in the 50 meters of road ahead of you, then you're dangerous and shouldnt be on one.

Yup its open. Closed on tuesday. They do not have ready parts for the GTR or ZZR at the shop premises itself, its a small time shop doing repairs and maintenance for mostly kawi bikes. But they can get parts for us way faster then Nevershine. Cos they get it from the agent in KL (SUNROCK). If parts are in stock in KL, can get in 2 days at the JB shop. If have to get from Japan, it takes bout 2 weeks. Got few parts myself from them. So far so good.
