hey Shinsou, first you gotta look at what your needs are and how much you're willing to spend.

In Singapore, the best choice would obviously be Super 4. Why do i say that? The reasons would be that:

-400cc bike on Singapore roads provides enough usable power, not too much and not too little.

-Road bike, suits city riding. Comfortable.

-Can put big box which can store lots of stuff(eg raincoat, cover, helmet, etc.)

-Maintainence is cheap, parts easily available

-On the average, FC will be better than a sports bike(also depends on your riding style)

-Price of 2nd hand Super 4 is also low, also depending on age of bike. There is more supply than demand, and also still in production, which in turn keeps the price of the bike down.

-I believe that there are also many good points out there that i'm not naming now.

Now on the issue of sportsbike for Class 2A, it'll be more of a personal preference instead of a practical reason to ride a sportsbike. I personally am looking for a RVF for my Class 2A bike as I would like to go down to the track. I'm not saying that a Super 4 can't go down to the track, but to put it this way, if you're interested in play football, get a pair of boots instead of shoes. You get what i mean?

But on the topic of Class 2A sportsbike, I would recommend you to get a RVF if your budget permits. Reason being is that it's much younger and has more race technology built into it. Handling wise, it's also one of the best in it's class.

The CBR & GSXR are already COE renewed bikes, and i'm sure that you can also find good ones out there. But if the previous owner doesn't really take care of the bike, you can find yourself going to the bike shop more frequently than expected.

Next, the value of the RVF is there, so after riding for a while, and you decide to sell your bike, you'll be able to cut down on your losses and even make a profit if you're lucky.

Also take into consideration if you're intending to upgrade to a Class 2 bike in the near future. If you are, it'll be good to ride a Super 4 instead as you can save the money for your Class 2 bike instead. The Super 4 will let you get used to handling a bigger cc bike and it won't feel so hard as if you were to upgrade from Class 2B - Class 2.

Last, after taking things like budget and practicality into consideration, get a bike that you like. No point to listen to what people say but you do not know what you want at the end of the day. The reason is that you'll be riding this bike for at least 1 year, and if you don't like your bike, it'll be a tough ride for that 1 year.

Hope this helps ya! :cheeky:

Your welcome Shinsou! glad that my advice was of some help to you.

Yeah, Class 2 Bikes would not be really practical for riding in Singapore roads. It'll be good if you enjoy touring like travelling to Malaysia or Thailand. That's when the higher capacity engine really gets it's potential realized.

Good luck in finding your Class 2A bike ya? =)

Super 4! Agree with what Shinsou had said. Super 4 the power is just nice and also if u want it to have a sporty look, u can do some minor cosmetics changes to it. The resale vaule of Super 4 is kind of good also. =)

I will be getting one if i have class 2a.

Choose what u think is right for you bro. The one thing that I always consider before buying anything is always budget. See whether it's within your pocket means or not. I've some friends who rode bigger bikes & it's sad to see them having 2 jobs just to support their ride... Just my 2 cents of opinions bro... Good luck for your pick!!!
