hi,

ytd i went to purchase a DDR400 512 Ram & when i bought it home to install, it seems that it can't work together with my other 2 strips of DDR333. when i use all 3 together, the USB & sound card function is disabled. i'll either need to use the DDR400 alone or the DDR333 alone in order for the computer to work normally, seems like they cant work together, y is that? has it to do with my mainboard?

any 1 can help? my fren wanted to give me his ddr333 but now im using ddr400. but i dunno can mix ant.

If you were to mix them both, most likely the computer will "step down" the speed of the faster RAM stick(s) so that all RAM sticks will run at a pace of the slowest one.

No guarantees. I know for mine, the computer just couldn't take it.

For others, the computer ran fine.

You may want to try to swap the RAMs in different slots. I believe your current one is running in parallel. Do check. You take out all the RAMs and realign them in order. DO not put the DDR333 in the same coloured slots.

It should work. The only problem is that your RAM speed will drop to DDR333 speed instead of DDR400. Also check that your motherboard is able to support DDR400 RAMs.
