Hi guys, really need recomendation for a good mechanic.. Nearly got killed by my mechanic.. now i am so afraid to ride my bike...

My incident.

Got my bike in june.. and i sent to my mechanic a week later to have my bike check. My mechanic is tied up and his brother took over...After screening thru.. his brother comment the carb need servcing, steering cone need to change and flush my coolent.. finaly when things are done.. he check and told me that the battery cannot hold charge and have to change as well.. In total i paid $400++ for the service that day..

the very next day, i was shock to find my bike was bleeding with petrol!!! I immediately call up mech and he guide me over the phone how to shut off the fuel line and check.. I flip up the tank and found that the fuel line was not secured with the metal clip.. how can this be happening???.. I question him and he told my not all bike need to use the clip and prob my fuel line is worn out.. luckily my neigbour biker didn't smoke...

The following few days, when i rode my bike, i realised that i have to put choke to start and there is always suddent lost of power when moving off.. again i brought my bike back and I left it there for 3 days.. happly when i go back, he told me that prob settle and found that my carbon starter worn out, thats why it couldn't start easily... i was in a rush so didn't argue with him.. he charge me 100++ this time..

today i was riding my bike, i realised the suddent lost of power still persist when moving off...and was travelling 100km plus lane 2 in ecp.. my bike suddently loses power and stalled... I was shocked and luckily manage to pull to the side... when i tried to start the bike again, i heard a loud POP sound.. but i manage to start and ride again..

I will be going back to have a big "fight" with them tomorrow morning.. but now i need to find new mechanic that can help me..

I am not so pissed off when mistake is made, the most importantly admit it. I am not looking at any refund or whatever, i just wanted to get my things resolved... and what I got is crap reasons to cover up stupid mistake.. I never bargain for the past years with mechanic as I believe this is related with my life..

Anyway, as posted in the other thread, found the root of all these problem, my EX-stupid mechanic after servcing my carb, put back the air inlet connector the wrong way (Connected to the carb linked to the throttle control).. causing my bike to choke and losses power and etc... my poor bike was "running with blocked nose" for air all the time

Is it? I don't think they reject U, as its still business for them. Not sure why some people ask me go elsewhere to service. I'm quite satisfy with their service although their pricing sometimes are not negotiable. My other opinion is go Planet to look for ah cheong, that funny semi bald uncle. :cheeky:

i wonder why nobody comment abt M1 motoring at changi road. any reasons or no experience with them yet?

Food For Thought

Bread pudding.

Single light cream is the type of cream most commonly used for cooking. However, this type of cream should not be boiled as it will curdle. Also, always add hot liquids to the cream rather than the cream to the liquids, in order to avoid curdling. Single(light) cream has an 18 percent fat content.

Well i've ALWAYS trust chong with my 01 R1. I've ever asked him if I need to wash the carbs? He said wanna wash can but don't really have to wash, said something about there's a filter somewhere filtering the petrol.

I mean if he wants to chop ppl's money he would have obliged and wash it for the sake of earning the money. He's someone's whom you can trust your bike with.

Anyway a long time ago I've got him to wash and tune my GSX400RR crabs, took 80 bucks and his whole night. When I got it back, everything was in working order, no nonsense, leakage, funny noise or broken parts.

Anyway this is what chong (Planet) charges for washing/tuning (i've never seen his tuning equiment, anyone saw him tuning carbs before?) of R1 carbs.

Price: 80 bucks, if he quotes more tell him you will punch him and burn his shop down :cheeky: .

Duration: His whole night, your bike gotta spend the night at his hospital.

Satisfaction : Guarantee.
