Legality and practicality for a trip to Malaysia (and Thailand)

I m trying to find a Sticky or general tread about paperwork for trips to Malaysia/Thailand, but cannot see it... Could you point me to correct tread/link, thx!!

Just trying to find out what actually required legally:

- bike paperwork (as it is all electronic in SG, I dont even have any registration paper confirming it is my bike... I guess I willhave to show something in MY when enter or got stopped?)

- insurance (at least formally if such will be asked by MY cops; would my NTUC (TP only) insurance cover MY trips or I need to get an extention to it?)

- any other papers which might be required or useful over there

Any advise for practicality:

- process on the border,

- how to pay border fee, entry fee, road tools etc

- best convenient petrol topups and makan places etc

- out of bounds, dangerous places/roads etc

Would love to go with a group for topup/makan anytime. I received my 2B recently so bit slow and unexperienced, but pls bear with me, we all started one day

Plenty of tips avail..

Get to know your bike well before crossing the border..

Insurance wise depends on individual company & what the will cover u for.. Also note the excess of the insurance .. Buying a Personal Travel Insurance is a plus to get u covered apart from your bike insurance coverage
