Anyone experience this before, being a new rider?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear B Company Insurance,

My name is X and I was a potential client. Today at 11.15am, dated 1st August 2007, I had called A Company Insurance to seek quotation for motorbike insurance. the nice lady directed me to your company.

When I called B Company Insurance, I was greeted by a man. Other companies would try to ask my name and address me by me name before attending to my queries. Strangely enough, this man just said "Yes?" as if I'm bothering him. He sounded decent and pleasant at first, but as soon as I mentioned about the motorbike insurance quotation, his whole attitude shifted. His question was scattered and not in sequence, and so was his explaination.

Being a new rider with no experience, with his slurred accent, it was hard for me to even comprehend what he was saying. Finally when he quoted the rough prices, I asked him to hold on so I can write it down, but he hang up.

I called again thereafter, and when I questioned why he hung up the phone on me, he got defensive instead. Finally he said he couldn't give me a good quotation without the vehicle registration date. I mentioned that I will be coming to his office to purchase the insurance and he quickly rushed through the address and slammed the phone on me.

Now .... after that experience, who would want to purchase anything B Company Insurance? It takes a lot for me to feel anything the the line of anger or frustration but I am after that call. I have been on a management level in the service line for a good 7 years and I will never allow such unprofessional saleman to represent my company. Instead of helping a new rider / motorist with such a crucial question with regards to your life and safety, the salesman by the name of Mr. X decided that I'm just another unworthy free enquirer. Why? If Singapore is known for our level of service standard, then this person who represent B Company Insurance should be a SHAME to even be i the service line. I demand action from B Company Insurance and an apology. It was because of him that I am now having doubts about your insurance policy. If a new potential client is being treated with such disrespect, I can only imagine the aftermath of a claim. Will be be attended with respect equally or are we, your client, just numbers in your database?

I called A Company insurance to file a complaint and will cc this email to them. I was and A Company client and have always received great friendly service from them. I think B Company Insurance has put a bad image on A Company alone with bad sales representatives such as Mr. X.

I look forward to your action.

Regards,

xxxx

This is like so messy man..A and Bs...Anyway, i was at Anda ytd.there's a total of ard 10 staff.only one of the guys was helping in pple doing bike insurance. before ytd, i called them and was transfered to the same guy,he gave me what i wanted which is the basic quote and the address and i hung up. Prior to that call, i called mitsui to ask how to add subrider as i got a policy under them and also to get a quote for my new bike. guess how many times they tranfered my call?Freaking 6 times.i had to repeat my qns again and again. bo bian.until finally the old man pick up the phone and answered accordingly.

however, i do note that both mistsui and axa(anda) underwriting agencies are very small scale companies. with front line staff of less than 10. So i can understand why they are unable to hold the phone as they may need to attend to other pple in their office.(did he say ok to waiting for u to write down?)

As for the person getting defensive on u,i guess its natural to people who are not trained well enugh to handle phone calls. Either way, Cool down la..go ntuc buy insurance lor..service better-cause big company and price better-need to pay more money. Bagus~!

Not a mere complain but just standing up for your rights as a consumer. If you're being treated badly for a service you're about to pay for, why bother, Anyways case settled.

ps: whats FTW?
