So I suggest that other riders who are not as "fast" as their sponsored riders, please don't patron this shop as you will not get the attention you deserve.

So commoners like us will not rcv any atention even? Thats bad. Shdnt practise this, if they are doing it now.

That means they are specialist in two things now. Power!

Thanks for sharing and i hope you will get ur problems sorted out soon.

yeah. really hate to see shops who give preference or priority over some customers. maybe like if you are a regular patron, they may give you a bit of discounts here and there and maybe give more effort, but I still believe that they should give the basic requirements to every rider that goes to their shop for their products or services.

Guess in some industries, Singapore still has a long way to go in regards to the level of service provided to consumers.

If you don't mention shop name, the mechanic who attended your bike, you are being very unfair to all the other shops who carry out suspension work.

There is nothing wrong with mentioning names as long as it's based on facts, and not a smear campaign.

If it's just servicing, and no change of internal components such as spring, or spacer, there isn't much rider specific setup to do.

demon, like i said in my previous post, they are only 1 or 2 suspension specialists in town..

After reading your postings, now I'm not too sure if that shop in my mind is the correct one. :giddy:

I just came back from Teck Thye, David stripped apart my fork and discovered

1. Not 1 but 2 bent shims in one of the fork cartridge !!!

2. An extra shim in one of the fork cartridge !!!

David took the trouble to balance both cartridge and add in a shim for each side as I have changed my fork springs to heavier ones. He also offered me some advice as how to "feel" a good & working suspension. He told me that the working of front suspension is affected by wheel balance and even rebalanced my wheel.

This is what I call a "Specialist"

I also notice a few 2B bikers riding SP and Kips hanging around there, chatting, cracking jokes with the mechanics. Overall, it was a nice and friendly atmosphere.

Teck Thye is always recommended by older bikers.. They really do good jobs.. they are the pioneers of suspensions right??

How much did u spent at David's ?

I spend about $160 with David but that is for a complete fork job right down the the cartridge piston and shims.

If your forks are okay and just need a regular service with fresh oil and seals, I think it should be much cheaper.

I also recently serviced my forks for $160 at my bikeshop. I actually sat down and watched my mechanic serviced the forks. He did a really good job and I've got no complaints whatsoever... :thumb:
