He was dying.. couldn't move, tried to move, but cannot move. i tried to talk to him.. telling him ambulance on the way, so ask him not to move.. after that he just lie down there.. never move at all. His helmet flew off far.. his bike was at least 2m away from him.. his helmet like.. 1m from the bike

 

After seeing him like that, clipping my helmet is a must for me now liao.. his bike sad leh.. FBB plate.. so new..

 

Its great that you stopped to help. I've been the victim of a driver who hit me and tried to drive away. Thankfully, a R1 rider chased the guy and forced him to return to the scene. I am sure the rider and his loved ones will appreciare your actions, as I did the R1 rider's help.

 

On another note, I do not know what you mean by clipping your helmet but I'm assuming its not the d-ring that u have to actually loop and tie, like the helmets in the driving centres. I've seen that it has become very common for riders to use a clasp like clip for convenience or out of ignorance.

 

That kind of clip is not going to keep the helmet secue on impact. If you are not using the d-rings for securing your helmet its time you should do so.

Great Job for your sense of urgency and maturity to call the ambulance, talk to the poor chap, keeping him aware that u r there to help and help is on the way....

 

For all other riders, please ride safely and defensively. No point challenging others as your life is too dear for mishaps to happen. Use the right gears and take care all....

I may sound evil but why there are so many unreported cases of Hit and Run's retribution? Aka = punishment for hit and run driver.

 

I'm interested to hear about the end result for those ****er and post them and let all ppl to see. So everyone will know how heavy the punishment for a hit and run.

Good work...i used to be a victim of hit and run too...nobody manage to take down the vehicle no though...but a grp of malaysian rider help me...if not i donno what will happen...cause i fainted at the first lane of exp...to that car...though u are not being caught..all i can say...what goes ard come ard!...

Normally driver who drink driving will not stop. Please show consideration to others, if you drink and still must drive home, please drive slowly and cautiously. I have seen many drunk punks who behave heroic only to crash their car.

 

Thanks for the reminder, I have not fasten my helmet ever since i pass. now I will. A simple act of kind gesture make the world a better place.

And I just cannot understand why on earth in Singapore there's still such driver who hit and run.......I mean that's after he had come out of his car, then drive away, what is the meaning/intention?

 

No licence, drink-driving, handphone driving..........or scared of been hit by others? that was what the hit-and-run driver who drove wo lic a Merz who killed an old woman at Chinatown, he was convicted of 1 year jail and lic ban for long time....

That hit-and-run driver, in his defence, explained why he didn't stop his car after the accident. He said he was afraid of other road users hitting him as the result of the accident, so he sped off.

 

The true reason, as everyone here can tell, is that he is driving wo lic.....so he scared and sped off......

i too was involved in hit and run along orchard rd in front of far east plaza.sadly, noone helped..and lucky the vehicle behind stopped in time.i had to get up and push my bike to the side. i only got a glance of the driver which is a female but unfortunately didnt get the number.i only pass for 1 mth then.

thankfully there are people like you and ur fren. u can change a person's life.

I too saw a white SP rider fall from him bike along PIE just a week ago. Think he kiss the front SUV backside. Usually I wont stop cuz got alot of biker help out liao. But sway sway this time I'm the first one so LL got to help him. Checked that he is still concious and alert, I offered to push his bike to the side. Left handle bar missing, the windshield frame bent and jam the right handle bar. Got to shift backside a few times before I can direct it to the side. Lucky one S4 and CBR150 rider also stopped and helped out.

just want to add a info about hit and run.

 

1. if the hit and run person is drink and drive or drunk and drive. his insurance co will most likely not accept claim.

2. if the hit and run person have no licence, his insurance co will most likely not accept claim.

3. if the hit and run person lan lan also don't want to pay for your damage, u will be at a lose. becos

3a. insurance claim is useless liao

3b. u can sue him but will take a super troublesome route and also don't know worth it or not. maybe in the end u have to pay a lot more.

3c. if the claim amount is less then 10k, we cannot sue him for bankrucy. (say by the law)

3c. no matter how, you will be on the losing side becos ur machines is injurt and u are injurt. (unless u have 1st party that claim ur own insurance but that will hurt ur insurance premium)

 

my family member meet which such a guy last nov. the police catch him becos got a kind hearted taxi person help in chase the hit and run car and took down the detail.

 

(the fellow, hit and run, stop and park his car and take a taxi home. the kind hearted taxi fellow help to take down the location of the parked car, the l.plate and the l.plate of the taxi. that is why the police so fast can catch the guy)

 

that guy is sure police case liao becos drink, drive, no licence. a 30+ yr old person (don't understand y he cannot think straight).

 

as for us, the machine damage is going to cost us more the 4k (min). my family member although is ok now, but still have to stay at hospital for a few day becos of "knock on the head".

 

lucky my family person never get fired from his job for absent 1week (he got no more leave becos it is yr end).

 

the hosiptal bill also not cheap.

 

really sianz....

 

My guess is, if that hit and run person just stay and say he willing to pay all the damage and hopital, we most likely willing to let him off. now, he have to pay for his crime and we have to pay for the damage he causes. the lawyer say useless in suing him for bankrupy becos all the bill add up is less then 10k.
