Arai's quality is so singularly advanced that it reaches the world's highest level of racing. A world so technical, so demanding, most other helmet makers can't even imagine it, let alone compete in it. The world of Formula One auto racing.

(In actual fact, Arai not only competes, but is chosen by more than half the drivers on the F-1 grid! Including the new 2006 world champion and three of the top-five finishers.)

One of the benefits of Arai's F-1 involvement is that we learned the best way to ventilate a helmet is to pull the hot stale air out, rather than trying to push new air in. This led to the development of the RX-7 series, the world's first diffuser-mounted motorcycle helmet.

The RX-7 series superb diffuser-ventilation technology uses our latest Type-8 Diffuser. It features redesigned and improved intake and exhaust ports to both improve airflow and reduce wind turbulence. It also has larger 10mm diffuser holes (increased from 7.8mm on previous RX-7) to move even more air.

SHELL CONSTRUCTION

These days, there are almost as many "revolutionary" shell-construction materials as there are new helmet brands. But Arai's five decades of experience, research, testing, comparison and evaluation have led our people to conclude that fiberglass-based construction does the best job of performing a motorcycle-helmet shell's main job - spreading and dissipating impact energy through strength, structural integrity and impact-flexibility.

The RX-7 introduced our patented SNC® "Structural Net Composite," Arai's latest and most advanced shell construction. It incorporates a structural net reinforcing material embedded between our exclusive Super Complex Laminate Construction layers. The specially-developed strands bond the layers more rigidly - similar to rebar - to further improve shell integrity and impact-force management. SNC also allows for more weight to be removed from the top of the shell, reducing overall helmet weight by almost three ounces (RX-7 vs. previous RX-7 models) while it lowers the center of gravity, resulting in better balance and reduced fatigue for more comfort.

REMOVABLE LINER

First introduced by Arai in the late '80s, removable liners have evolved into extremely-comfortable and convenient features .The interior comfort-liner components are fully removable, washable, and replaceable. More importantly, the RX-7 features Arai's innovative DRY-COOL® lining material that actually utilizes micro water cells to improve moisture and heat transfer from your head into the airflow around our exclusive Space Frame Liner. DRY-COOL® not only leaves your head dryer and cooler at the end of a long or hot ride (hence the name), it also allows the liner to dry much faster between rides
