Hey everyone!

I'm a 21 yo. girl trying to get her 2B license.

It's tough and I'm getting super discouraged :( Instructors are nitpicking, even tho I know it's for my own good.

I can't seem to pass class 2.02! Monday's my 4th try. Sigh.

The hardest part for me is the right turn.

Can you give me tips!! My angle for my right turn isn't good. It's most often too sharp, sometimes too wide.

Can someone teach me how to aim for the correct right turn angle? :/

Thanks for all your help, guys!!!

Its alright to feel discouraged once in a while. But never let it stop you.I got so discouraged from failing my lessons that i stopped attending them all together for a year. But after a year,i decided to start off where i stopped.I'm not saying you should stop attending lessons though.

Now,tips for turning.

Most importantly, your speed/throttle control while turning. As you've mentioned, you either turn too wide or too sharp. So i'm guessing its your speed. If you're going a little fast, you'll have to bank more,or if you're going a little slow, just shifting your weight slightly will suffice.

And also the "timing"of your turning. If you turn to early, the instructors may see it as sharp turning as you're too close to the kerb. And too wide if you turn too late.

There is no correct turning angle per say. Just slow down before turning, look at where you want to go. Eye-point is very important while turning.

And also your mindset. If you attend lessons for a negative mindset, you'll most likely fail the lesson as you're not putting in your best effort.

Nonetheless,good luck this Monday.

1. Aim at middle of the lane u are going into. Once traffic is clear aim for Entrance point.

2. After check back, half clutch and throttle a little.

3. Check blind spot while holding half clutch and start to,throttle more.

4. Change gear 2. You should reach entrance point already.

Tip 1: NEVER THROW your clutch. Find out where is the "biting" point of your bike for that day during the warming up rounds and remember the feeling. Once u throw your clutch you will always have the tendency to "jerk" the bike at first gear.

Tip 2: grip your tank tightly with your tights, it helps u to feel how much your bike is leaning. Remember when u slow down while turning u will feel like falling. You turn the throttle more and u come up. So keep, the throttle going and control that clutch.

Tip 3: Always keep ur head up and looking at least 10-15m ahead if possible. Why? Well u will ride to where u are looking... If you look at the curb... U will go into the curb... If u look at the middle of the road tendency will be u will go there too:)

Have fun!

I repeated 2.02 as well haha

To me, most important thing was eye point and gripping fuel tank tight.

Your bike will naturally go to where you are looking and gripping fuel tank helps to be more stable

I took class 2A here and understood the classes have no relevance to real life driving. Was just a waste of time. Nevertheless find a way to do what they want and sort your license.

No relevance srini? The road and its inhabitants must have been kind to you...

To T.S: It's normal to feel discouraged, stressed, and to feel that perhaps the instructors are nitpicking. Just remember that you are there to learn, and that making mistakes are probably the quickest way you will learn. Take it from someone who has had to attempt the TP test 6x. You'll get there eventually with enough practice, and adopting a learning attitude will speed things along.

In direct response to your issue, 'eyeline' is probably the most important aspect of steering. As Siphon already mentioned, you look at curb you will go to the curb. Keep your eyes on where you want to go, and if it helps draw an imaginery line from you to your target. As you are moving, consistently extend your 'target' further as befits your speed. Do not keep your eyeline fixed on a single spot.

Hope it helps.

in motorcycling, we have to tolerate a lot. imagine passed, ride on the road, u get pissed off with some many characters. u cant ride for long then. learn to relax first

1) look up and far ahead.

2) use rear brake to modulate speed

3) put weight on inside peg

Posted

1)Look ahead at the direction and lane you wanted to go

2)Check blind spot

3)Half-clutch to biting point and maintain it without letting go fully of your clutch to prevent hard engine brake while trottling.

4)Turn to the direction you want

Hope this helps:thumb:

Instructor is your best friend. Since your instructor is there watching over you, you should seek advice from him. We not sure if it's due to your positioning, throttle control or eyeline problem.

During your the turn, your positioning of your bike is kinda important too. As long as you don't turn too early or late, the rest depends on where you look at. Just relax and look at where you are going and your bike will follow. Always remember to look ahead and not down.

In fig.8 you will learn that the further you look the sharper the turn. As you turn your head more, your body will tend to lean more. Steering is all about your eyeline, leaning your bike and speed control. If too slow, your bike will be pull down by gravity during the turn, so just throttle up to bring the bike up. If too fast, you will having hard time leaning your body and bike down, just slow down.

Just find out more about your mistakes from your instructor. While riding just relax and don't rush. All the best!!

Girl,

Theoretically speaking the only tip that will be beneficial to you right now is to pillion any of the above valiant and experienced riders.

It's a practical test therefore - hands on is the best tip I can give you.

Welcome to PM me if you want serious pointers.

try visualizing your own actions mentally over and over in your head before you get onto the bike, how you're going to turn, what's your body position, at which point on the road you're going to turn. All the advice given above is helpful, but its down to you doing this mental prep before getting onto the bike. If you don't, you'll find progress to be slow since you will most likely end up gabra-ing due to nerves and be unable to think in time. This is much like mental visualization used by top athletes and has been proven to be critical to performance.

Another crucial tip is to always remember where your rear wheel is. too many riders (and drivers too!) have a bad spatial sense as to where the rest of their vehicle is when driving and only focus on what they can see i.e. front wheel. This is how sharp/wide turning happens. Think of lorry and bus drivers (any long vehicle) and notice how they have an amazing sense of where their whole vehicle is even though the cabin is only at the front. Keep that in mind when maneuvering your vehicle.

Lots of bikers don't develop proper spatial awareness but get by in real world riding because a motorcycle is sufficiently compact. Lots of bikers do sharp right handers, even up to class 2 on junctions riding their nice flashy big bikes lol..
