There's a rumor that Ducati Minerva give "free coe"

Coe is based on the last unsuccessful bid

There's still lots of new Ducati around

So good luck

No such as free lunch, the money needs to come from somewhere.

Interests rate or years of installment?

If they can push sales, others will think of way to push as sale as well, just wait and see. It might get interesting.

I saw 7 years installment plan, I guess 10 years will become a norm soon.

Over leverage is never a good thing, however it gives you access to things that you so you can "live to the fullest".

No wonder Ducati price dropping, maybe I can finally consider 1098 or 848...

It is wat it is....

In order for the coe to go down, this must be a movement. A protest

If not suck thumb n sign the 10 years installment plan.

Soon it will be the norm

I HOPE 10 years installment plan will never happen. i cant imagine the interest incrued especially for expensive bikes.

anyway back to the poll. what is the reasonable price. the question is very very vaque.

Not mention bike installment interests rate is 4-5% and car's one 1.88 to 3% or so....

Minerva doesn't come with free COE. Their price did state COE cap so the excess you top up, if that month is below the cap you minus from there. People buying ducati cause it is more accessible and reliable than before. Also salary increases play a part too, ducati average owners are in their 30s in a professional career thus the increase in sales. You compare the price, Jap machines like ZX10 cross 40k already so for ducati to be 50k isn't that much unreasonable.

Nothing to lose.

not in the next year or two, will we see a real drop in price.

GE coming... Suddenly increase the quota. Whatever happen to the resounding chime "WE NEED TO CONTROL VEHICLE POPULATION"?

Anyway, 官字两个口. They will just say that last quarter a lot of ppl scrapping their vehicles blah blah blah...

"The supply for commercial vehicles will almost double to 736, while that for motorbikes will rise by 15 per cent to 653."

So monthly we have 653 motorcycle COEs to bid. Each month has 2 biddings, so halve it becomes abt 327.

COE starts hiking over $3000 when the quota drops to 360 (from Feb 2014) and below in each bidding exercise.

COE is not dropping back to below 3k. If we are lucky, it might drop to 4k range.

Brace yourself to see more e-bike on the roads. Why so? No need spend to take licence. No need spend thousands to buy motorcycle. No need petrol. Can park anywhere. No need pay parking. No need pay erp. No need pay roadtax. Can pillion as many as possible. Can go on the road and pavements as and when. No annual inspection. Can put many LEDs.

The plan is very simple. If we stop buying new bikes, the coe price will eventually drop. If we need another bike, get a 2nd hand one instead or hold one to current one, at least till July.

The dealers are fighting for coe, so we shouldn't join them now.

Posted

In theory sounds simple, in practice impossible to implement......how to get everyone to stop buying new bikes? hahaha

Unless govt implements policy that buyers bid for their own COE, and COE to be paid full cash upfront, cannot factor into loan. This should help bring down for both bikes and cars

Posted (edited)

Can anyone update, buying a simple bike like Honda Curb what is the price in the following countries:

Singapore: $______Cost of Bike + $_________(COE if any, valid for how many years?)

Malaysia: $______Cost of Bike + $_________(COE if any, valid for how many years?)

Thailand: $______Cost of Bike + $_________(COE if any, valid for how many years?)

Indonesia: $______Cost of Bike + $_________(COE if any, valid for how many years?)

Hong Kong: $______Cost of Bike + $_________(COE if any, valid for how many years?)

Taiwan: $______Cost of Bike + $_________(COE if any, valid for how many years?)

Japan: $______Cost of Bike + $_________(COE if any, valid for how many year?)

Australia: $______Cost of Bike + $_________(COE if any, valid for how many years?)

Was wondering to stay in first world country like Singapore, are we over paid for unnecessary ridiculous price for a simple bike?

Who will be suffering?

How your next or next next generation going to survive here?

** People own a simple bike is for their daily basic transport but NOT to showoff or just park at home without using it! I'm afraid another trade will be extincting in Singapore soon! (Bike ice cream man)
