1st u have to find a buyer for your number (obviously)

Next is to head down to LTA and tell them you doing a double transfer for number retention. The counter staff will know.

Procedure is to pay $11 and transfer your bike ownership to the buyer. He will then be able to do what's call a number retention and pay $1300 to LTA. A new number will then be allocated to the bike. With the new number, pay another $11 and do a 2nd transfer for the bike ownership back to you.

Done..... you get back your bike under your name with a new number whereas buyer will have the number under his name. Whether he'll put it on his new or old bike is his own problem.
