Thank you for your inputs.

so far at least it can safely last for 30,000km.

Which is abut 3 years of my usage millage. Still not a good....

Razgriz, hope the blinking FI blinking is due to connection problem.

Hope to get more feedback from other wave-i rider.

Regards,

Razgriz Bro, i have been checking up on our bikes PGM FI on the net and found that maybe hope i am correct. If your bike is running in perfect condition but the...........FI light is still blinking, try disconnecting your bike battery for about 30 secs to 1 minute for the bike ECU to reset. No harm trying it might solve the "BLINKING FI":goodluck::goodluck: Got this tip from honda cars web site regarding FI blinking lights. It might work as the system are from the same HONDA family. :cheer: :thumb:

what is the octane rating of the spark 135 engine?

Posted

Razgriz,

I think i will post my experience with my this present 125i bike.

I am the second owner.(Bought the bike 6 months ago)

At first the power was ok and then it start to become "heavy breath throttle"(meaning have to turn a lot of throttle to get power).

What happened?Alot of checking here and there, the plugs, engine oil,etc but no clue. The spark splug is very clean (no carbon at all) - its true not kidding.

So where is the problem? Then i think what type of petrol the previous owner use and i have been using shell 98 after taking ownership of the bike. Tried V power, bike performance came back for awhile and went back to like i am carrying two big buffolos on my bike (i weight only 55kgs). Wa Pian! I have to turn and turn the throttle more for pick up and cannot even go more than 100km/h. Condition worse much worse than before!

Then one day by chance when my bike was low on fuel and the nearest pump is a Caltext station.

So i pump a full tank of Platnium and went on my way to my destination.

Wahhhhh! At first the bike feel different in the power output, the more i travel onwards the performance gets better and better. After that shiok ride onwards i have been using caltext gold and platinium continuously.

Is it because of the Techron thing. Done some checking and found that it is very good for fuel injection engines. Wave 125i is a fuel injection model.

(Previously i only use shell petrol on all my bikes)

Now my bike use only pure caltext fuel even when i go to JB.

For information: I changed the stock spark plug to NGK G-POWER(platinum plug) the bike's performance now is very consistent.

Engine oil i use Motul E tech 100 10W/40

Spockets sizes changed front 14/back 36

Air filter cleaned and not changed.

Those changes above was recommended by my mechanic in JB at ah gua lane ------(Danny) :thumb:

I now can reached 120km/h anytime even when pillioning my wife. Pick up is fantastic. Fuel consumption rate improved also 50+km/L

No modification is made internally. 99.99% STOCK

The FI system is quite complex but good in power output and fuel consumption. Check this link for information on PGM-FI system control PGM-FI SYSTEM CONTROL

There are actually quite a number of sensors in the bike so best to keep the bike stock as much as possible.

Honda believe in the FI system otherwise they would not have start to sell this model all over the world including indonesia.

The model in indonesia is the Honda Supra X 125R PGM-FI(very sporty design) view this link HONDA SUPRA X 125R PGM-FI

Pant.....Pant.......fingers crammed:sweat:

Hope i am not long winded. Hope this post can and really help you.:thumb:

Thanks:cheeky:

To all Honda wave 125 owners,

Odometer correction service is available now.

Change 99999km to 0km

Reason:

This LCD odometer is unable to go back 0km by itself.

Unless you want to pay to buy a new unit.

Otherwise, it is better to reset it to save the money and our limited resource for the world.

Razgriz,

My trusty bike whether hot days or heavy rain still operate ok. After what i service in my earlier post that my bike performance is getting better each day.

My bike plate is FX..... 2004 year one.

What petrol you using?

You can try Caltex Platinium first then Gold. No harm trying if it helps your pre.c..ious...

I tried the Silver to save cents but still prefer the Gold or Platimium.

(Difference only a few cents and not mind thing)

The bike engine computer management thing is very good in controlling the balance of air/fuel mixture in any temperature day situation. Overheating should not happen if use the proper grade and type of engine oil (semi-synthetic or even better synthetic ones) with the JASO MA rating on it (Verry important) These types are more stable in high temperature operation of bikes and prevent clutch slippage.

Overheating may occur in situation like stuck in traffic jams eg: going to JB at woodlands.Simply switch off the engine to cool off in situation like that especially if you are not using a good high grade engine oil.

The bike is air cooled not liquid cool so the engine oil has to do double work of lublicating and cooling the bike internally.

If you have any questions normal or crazy about our bikes. Feel free to post.........Thanks

ur wave wat plate? how old is ur bike?

sometimes, its due to the age of the bike... the longer it is.. the lesser the mileage is...

just a thought and also some views from a few of the wave riders...

hope it helps...

My Wave-I now ~12,000km. Last trip I came back from Segamat wiht this bike was in heavy, I did near some unusual sound came from my bike, seem like from the FI unit.

At that time I was using Shell V-power. I will give a try on Caltex Gold.

Tam.
