Does the red light behind the phantom lights up dimly when the light switch is on? because currently mine only have the white light and brake light when depressed.

ok then i think u can start getting ur hands and fingers dirty....

Step 1- check and see whether the bulb holder has full contact with the contact points of the bulbs, if alls ok proceed to step 2.

Step 2- trace the wiring of the lightholder for the rear brake light, make sure theres no loose wire hanging and rubbing against the rear wheel. if notting proceed to step 3

step 3- open up ur seat and continue tracing the wire's to the point where they are connected, that is protected by a transparent rubber cover, spray some WD40 and also make sure that the connection is not loose..

do all this checking with a multimeter to double confirm ur wires condition...

ok sure! thanks for the detailed steps, i can try going thru the wires, but im not so comfortable using a multimeter yet, not a very hands on person, probably leave it to the mech if it comes to that..

you probably do not have a multimeter... you can use a test pen instead if you have one...

nope, the red light doesn't light up at all, whether the light switch is on/off, or when the brakes are depressed lightly or hard.

Red light that doesn't light up at all? Farnee la you  Get it fixed fast! Very dangerous OTR without tail light at night...

For normal case (car/bike), the tail light sure will light up dimly if the headlights are on.

yeah i know, very dangerous...

it's on and off, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't...

e.g. just today morning, before setting off for work, it was working fine, tested out at the carpark, then when i reached my workplace, it wasn't working anymore...
