H&B boxes have locks which are universal in nature...esp with the keys. I think H&B pple dun expect one H&B owner to steal from another H&B owner, if u know what i mean....

I was reading the enclosed thread, you have linked with interest so, was kind of puzzled on how you or perhaps the victims have, reach to a conclusion that the thief/thieves attempt bare-handed without any keys or tools? :giddy:

Maybe we are talking about professionals whom are armed with a piece of wire. Ha ha!

My personal opinion, there is never a foolproof motorcycle luggage box that is safe from thieves. It is best to equip your motorcycle with alarm and wire additional mercury switches to the luggage box/es for another layer of security sake.

Frankly guys, I do not see the big deal about security of sideboxes. You can buy the most branded or the most expansive complexed boxes but it will not deter idiots from opening it. The more it looks secured, the higher the possibility of having something valuable in it, thus, encourages break-ins. No one is going to look into a shabby, drooped leather side bags as there is probably nothing inside. This does not mean you should get those leather bags. The point in the end is deterrent. That's all one can do.

Not to have locks is like not locking our doors. Same with our bags ... just lock it to deter. Anyone knows its intrusion to open a bag without permission so one should not do it unless there is a motif, in which can never be good :)

There are locksmiths that can pick your locks but do we wish there were many locksmiths? If there is a way to open some boxes, do we need a demo? Do we really want many people to know how to open these boxes? Do we want to have a seminar on opening or picking locks? Surely not.

The less people know the better. I really do not see the gain in knowing how to open or picking the locks unless one is often absent minded and losing ones keys ... in which perhaps one should not have anything valuable in fear of losing them.

2 cents worth .... :)

have bike will travel . . . . .
