Haven't started it in a couple of days, and it won't start now. I can hear it crank but it just won't run. I checked the spark plug and it looks pretty ok. Its an auto bike with only electric start so there lies the problem cause my battery is fast running out! Any help?

Its a gilera btw.

most likely the batt is dead. just my 2cent worth of advice. hope you can start ur bike without a tow to shop. good luck

full tank..

actually.. i wonder what exactly is the reason that a bike can't start after a few days??

The batt goes flat..

I have tried to see things from your point of view..But no matter how hard I try..Or what I do..I just can't get my head that far up my butt..

If yr bike can crank but will not fire up ( start) then it is not the battery or starter fault - try using/pulling the choke.... If battery flat get a friend to help jump-start.

check your carb below and if u can use a + screw driver to loose it but dont take the whole screw out and just let the over flood fuel flow till it done.and if u can, pull your oil pipe out, start your bike and let the petrol flow more then put it back to the carb.make sure petrol goes into your carb

if batt not dead then it all good

try to ask a biker frz to buy a cheap cheap spark plug for u first, then u go to bike shop to get back what u use before.

tat all i can teach when my cant start.

if all above fail.....tow is the last option

try changing the spark plug. it mite look ok but it mite not be producing a clean spark to start ur engine. or change plugs with another gilera. ur bike doesnt have a choke cos it has an auto choke. and in between each crank while starting, make sure u wait for at least 5 secs, or u'll end up with a flat batt in no time.

thanks for those instructions. So its possible my carb is flooded? how can it be if i didn't even use the bike?

Carb flooding does not only occur during riding. As a matter of fact, it actually occurs during the times when your bike is stationary as well. Thanks to the Earth's gravity.

When your bike is in a stationary position over a period of time, gravity is still doing it's job! That is why, some riders like to turn their fuel switch to the 'off' position to cut off the fuel flow to their carbs/engines.

At the same time, there may also be a little vacuum that is left in your vehicles engine/carb after riding. This also contributes to the 'carb flooding phenomenon' as I would like to call it. The vacuum will draw out a little bit more fuel from your tank and tada! You find that your bike has difficulty starting after long periods of inactivity.

Hope this helps.

wow thanks! Because i'm a noob (more a 4 wheeler then a 2 wheeler) and i'm afraid of messing things up, I did the last resort, which is to tow it..

but thanks for the explanations! I learnt quite a bit there.. now to sell the bike.. lol

sell the bike? why?:(
