I was thinking of putting a gauge on my bike but got a bit of question.

I understand that the gauges are not waterproof. How to prevent from spoiling? Singapore weather sure got heavy rain one. Any good brands to recommend? Prefer if waterproof.

Which one is better? Analog or digital?

If u 1, can put sealant. If still scared kana water or stolen, then put under seat compartment loh :D

Digital or analog, depend on personal preference.

Some ppl think the analog 1, needle will match the speedo, but keep shaking.

Some think digital v cool & seem more accurate, but the number keep jumping, so can :giddy:

Bro , as for the voltage show on my VTEC is :

1) just start the bike/stationary>>>>12.2V or 12.4V on the bike but haven't start ( with headlight off ).

2)while moving >>>>13.0V at 80km/h speed (with headlight on). 14.1V at 80km/h speed (with headlight off).

3)max voltage for super4>>>>14.9V while warming up my bike (with headlight off).

anyway bro the voltage for every bike is actually not the same, so if ur is different from mine or other ppl tat doesen't mean ur voltage got problem only if ur voltage drop less than 12V (when ur engine is started )then something is wrong lor. :cheeky:

Hi,

Normally voltmenters are sold in those car aceessories shop...

I am planning to fix one on my bike... Survey ard .. LAB selling at abt $30++..

Den I went over to Alexandra & found a car accesories shop; selling different type of voltmeters at different cost..

I assess that if I buy from there, can also go to my nearby bike shop at the area to fix it up.. Cut down the hassle.

West area.. U try looking at those auto shops; maybe at Toh Guan Industrial ..

Gd luck!! :thumb:

Hi,

I spoke to a fellow S4 buddy... With RXZ header..

ask for his advice on fixing a voltmeter...

Mentioned that it will drain ur batt fast. took it out after a year.

Any S4 rider with RXZ header gt comments on this?

If yes, any solutions?

:help:

Basically from my point of view, a voltmeter will cause the batteries life to drain out. As it doesn't comsume any energy when the bike is off. cuz this oni show a feedback signal of the voltage of the battery when it is stationary.

Therefore we do see an increase in the voltage when throttle is opened.

Furthermore, i susposes the connection is like when the bike is off, voltmeter doesn't show any feedback, cuz it's connected this way.

Hope i am right, pls correct me if it's not..

:giddy: drain batt ?no lar....doesnt consume much battery lar....connect to headlite lor.....so it will take the reading from the headlit......once bike is off,no power to headlite then voltmeter no reading liao lor....as for when bike is running, the batt is charging mah so where go drain away batt?with a voltmeter u can observe whether ur batt is working fine or dying....Example.when i start my bike, with headlite on,it reads 12v....so the batt which is 12v is working fine....i switch off the headlite, the reading shoots up to 13v.....n will slowly charge up to 14v....means the bike is working fine also.....so if next time when i start bike, reading falls below 12v,then i know my batt life span almost up liao....its a gd gadget to check on the batt.....voltmeter doesnt consume more power than headlite.......so it dont drain bat.....
