Good evening! just bought a 2 year old CBR150. noticed that the steering felt oddly heavy and sluggish. was advised to get steering bearings changed. anyone has changed such an item? would appreciate info on bike model, bike shop and price. cheers!

hey dude!!i had e same problem like urs..but i'm riding Kr.steering felt oddly heavy and sluggish especially when cornering!!always overshot when cornering man..always felt 50-50 when doing corners..:sian: yeah,4 me it's e con bearings..had it changed for $75(or $65,sorry forgotten :D)the mech even showed me the defacts on e old bearings..no matter e cost,better to have it changed bro..better lose $$$,rather than putting ur own life at risk(touchwood):angel: !!also do not forget to change ur wheel bearings when u change tyres!!juz to play safe man..:D

Shd cost less than $100 on the cone bearing.. Perhaps u shd ask the shop that u have brought from how much they charged for replacement..

in spore, the price quoted is ard $70

just called up my usual shop in JB, got quoted RM$85. will get my 2nd steering cone replacement done up in JB this time. my 1st replacement done in a SG shop sucked.

thanks for all the replies. homework as follows:

LAB: $50

Lee Huat near 10 mile junction: $60

other shops along Serangoon: $75

all with installation.

 

in the end went with some people from the CBR150 thread to go JB do. $85RM with installation. very tedious to DIY cos got to remove alot of things. hope this helps!
