Hi all bros,

I am Kelvin and i just got my Class 2B. My prob to fellow bros are

1. How do we calculate the value of used bike here in Singapore? i notice bike do not have parf value and stuff. So how to calculate Depreciation then? in short how to calculate bikes market value are there any certain standards to fellow?

2. Are there any sole used bike dealers in Singapore? sorri i was formerly driving, now have to down grade due to some unforseen circumstances and i really know nuts abt riding in Singapore. I am really curious abt the cost invole and stuff.

Thanks so much in Advance !

there's no way of calculating the value,u just have to go around and ask.....

for a used 2b bike, machine price may range from 4k and below i guess being 4k for those italian bikes such as aprillia or gilera which are usually higher in value...

there are many new/used bike dealers in sg for example ASPhoon, Performance Motors etc...i suggest u look through all the places and find out what u really need....Serangoon road has a couple of bike dealers...

insurance shud be cheap for low capacity bike like 2b,anythin above $300 is robbery...

road tax is $40 for 6 months if i'm not wrong..

If im not mistaken calculating market value goes something like this;

Deduct around 20% of machine price at the time you bought for 1st year of the bike. (i.e anytime from day 1 to day 365)

and additional 10% for subsequent years.

So if your bike is 3 yrs 8mnths (taken as 4yrs) its around 50% of the machine price.

SOMETHING like that. I'm no dealer but i remember its something like that.

But then again, if your bike is a popular bike even tho it's old, dealers may pay higher than market value for it bec they know there's demand for it and they can sell it easily.

Just my $0.02

Don't take my words as law. I just have a rough idea. :cheeky:

1st, loan company control the market, u can't sell cos u got loan

2nd, if u selling at 4k, can only reloan 1.5k, insu not include ( unless u buy for bike shop everything oso can )

3rd, tour bike or sport bike insur diff alot

age and expir oso
