What is the difference between a Hayabusa 1300 and a 1360?? Also what's the difference between a 1300RX and a 1300R?

As far as I know, the busas have only varied from 1299 to 1298..... I think European and rest of the world specs.... if I'm not mistaken.....

As for the X after the 1300RX, well, that denotes the year.... such as K1, K2 and K3...... the hayabusa's denootation is not as well known as the GSX1000R.....

I think you can big bore it up to 1,585cc.....

Almost close to 1600cc for a busa. Bedok to Tuas in 10mins... Found this links page on busas with tonnes of picts and mod explanations, but in Japanese. You might have to use altavista bablefish for translation. http://www.riderbook.com/j/suzuki.html#GSX1300R

best to just leave your bike the way it is until such time when it doesn't excite you anymore....

The busas are, in my opinion, quite decent in the way it looks.... bulky, but nice bulky....

Agree, now I'm just at the stage of getting excited by the thought of owning 1. I plan to ride in stock condition for about 3-6mths depending on my comfort level and getting used to the bike. No point to rush and loose the excitement. Kinda like foreplay...

The difference in weight, power, speed, maneuver friendliness and rider's attitude are elements which attributes to good riding and handeling skills. I'm a little disturbed by it's size though, as in not sure how long it'll take for me to handle it. How do you relate your first riding experience on a busa when you first got it? It took me a while before getting used to my Super 4 after upgrading from RXZ.

Hondanohito, compare the figures. Good luck shopping though!

RXZ approx 100kg 10hp

S4 approx 170kg 50+hp

Busa approx 230kg 170hp

[note: notice the word approx before anyone starts with technical flames!]

Actually, the Busa is surprisingly agile for its size.... and more importantly, very stable at high speeds..... it will never match the sports bikes for agility........ On the track, the sports bikes will wipe the busas.... but not on the straight....however, I think the K3 might have a good fighting chance...... However, these bikes are more comfortable than the sports bikes......

Here are some figures for your comparison:

Power-to-weight ratio (excluding rider):

Suzuki Hayabusa: 0.803bhp/kg

Kawasaki ZX12R: 0.825bhp/kg

Honda BlackBird: 0.74bhp/kg

Power/Torque

Power(BHP)/Torque(ft-lb)

Suzuki Hayabusa: 172.5@9800rpm 102@7000rpm

Kawasaki ZX12R: 175.7@10500rpm 98.9@7500rpm

Honda BlackBird: 164@9500rpm 87.8@7250rpm

Thanks GuiNNeSS & Greg, it's all very collective info to ponder. By the way, I have successfully gotten the Hayabusa Service Manual in PDF format! It dates back for the '99 busa but the technical stuffs are still essential for busa owners here. It's 179mb with 469 pages. How to upload to share?

No prob, 1 page is $1 so 469 pages...

Kidding, PMed Andy about it. No need to burn cd if uploaded to SBF! I'm planning to get hold of the 2003 manual, about US $70+ w/o shipping. There are also 4set cds for auction at ebay but dun noe what's inside...

Wondered if there's anyone with old issues of street bikes magazine with commentary or reviews on busas? Please PM me as I can't seem to find any on the latest mags. Thanks in advance.
