I'm looking for a liter class sports bike and saw the ZX10R at Looi Motors today. Color aside, I must say it looks quite nice.

My concerns are :

- Sitting Position

I've been told of all liter bikes (GSX-R, CBR, R1 & ZX10), the GSX-R is the most upright of all. I'm not too keen on putting too much weight on my wrist. Does anyone knows how the ZX10R compares to the GSX in terms of this?

- Parts & Servicing

This is the major gripe I've been reading/hearing from most people when I mention I'm interested in the ZX10R. Actually, for all Kawasaki in fact. Parts expensive, local agent don't keep stock, etc. Does anyone know whether this is true or is no longer true?

Price wise, I was told about $24k on the road. Kinda between the K5 ($25k) and CBR ($23k). But ideally, I'm looking for a 2nd hand one cause at the mileage I travel, I think I'll take > 1 year to break it in :)

How does it compare with the K3? Have you tried that before?

Then what about the parts? Advisable?

Don't know the price OTR for a 2nd hand ZX-10R.

My Dream Car, see who wants to cut my lane and tail-gate me......

Spoke to a couple of owners and seems that parts are slightly harder to get but not that bad still.

OTR price is highly variable depending on your age. Insurance is higher than those of Honda and Suzuki though. For machine price, it depends very much on how you look at it. Some people try to sell higher because Kawa is more rare so perceived to have higher resale value. One the flip side, it is not a popular bike so price will be lower. So really up to you to negotiate. You can bet dealer takein price for Kawa will be lower than likes of Suzuki/Honda as it's generally harder to sell because of it's niche market segment. Eg. Hayabusa and ZX12R, Haya easier to sell...
