A friend who ride a CBF ask how much is the original headlight bulb cost and why do his bulb always blown faster?

 

It seems that the stock headlights blow is a common issue?

I met an uncle riding a CBF just the other day and he told me he changed his headlight over time times liao.

Got so fed up with it that the bought 5 bulbs to keep as spare...

 

For me, it was blown within 9 month of riding. Went to Boon Siew, they intro an bulb (think they said was

from Italy or something...can remember laio.) Cost me around $30 I think but lasted till now (around 2 1/2yrs since then.)

 

P.S. they also said the original bulb is lousy.

Carb changed to Yoshimura Racing Carb, pickup improved by 100%, but then again its not only the carb that makes a big difference. Its a combination of various things that will make a CBF a super ride.

 

Hopefully, someone will continue to bring up the name of the CBF as a mini tourer concept bike.

For those who are having bulb problems, please do not buy the cheap $5 to $10 bulbs from regular bike shop. Try to get Osram Halogen bulbs, mine last me more than a year. Also behind the bulb, there is a dust cover, make sure that it is close at all times.

mine is a tourer set up--

 

with engine crash bar and rear pannier which act as crash bar.

 

just that the power is not very wise with the bars around my bike...

BTW, ur fuel consumptionn still maintain the same? Thats really awesome as usually when u got a aftermarket carb n exhaust, FC will definetely drop....

hard to believe? that's why the choice and combination of parts is very crucial. Lucky for me, i got it right the 1st time with the yoshi carb, due to the power jet technology, it sprays fuel like a fuel injector.

another surprise is the bike is not loud at all. It has a very low bassy refined sound.

Well, i don sting over my EO changes coz strictly 1000km changed, haha

 

But my cold start problem only start after i went the last BS servicing... B4 that no matter how big rain and how cold weather it always starts off nicely....

 

Now is totally cant remain idle for 3 sec if the engine is start from cold...

 

anyone having the same prob as me and how do u all solve it?? I rmb Viruz telling me he had bad cold start problem b4 also...

goto BS to have it resolved, problem likely due to idling rev tuned too low.

1.2krpm is my idling rev

Time to change tires, which is better? Pirelli City demon 275-18 + 300-18 or

Michelin Pilot Sporty 275-18 + 90/90-18 ?

 

if you have the budget try to get bridgestone BT45 price abt $200 to $220 per pair.

 

If not, get Michelin Pilot sporty

Rear: 100/90/18

Front: 90/90/18

Best price is $140 per pair at Unique Motors(both branches)

 

the michelin rear size that you mentioned 275-18 is a tube/tubeless compatible better to get the one i mentioned.

 

For safety and convenient reasons, change your tyre valves to the metal "L shape" types, cheap ones costs abt $8 to $10 per piece. Better ones cos abt $70 per pair (Bridgeport valves from UK). Need help call us at 91837105. if you going to Unique at TOh Guan, mention my name Lawrence, they will take care of you.

unique doesn't carry the bulb, got mine in JB, heard autobacs sells but not sure of the price.
