hi guys. i was just wondering, im riding a 2009 and the thing is i realised that my bike model is listed as a yamaha yzf-r6s on the transfer paper at LTA. are you guys experiencing the same thing? and whats the difference between a r6 and r6s? appreciate your help.

My 08 r6 is also listed as r6s. But mine is r6r. Check if yours is r6s or r6r. Google it. To see the difference.

okay thanks guys for your input. anyway my bike stopped at a traffic light today and the coolant splashed out on the right side near the engine casing. the coolant didnt drip out slowly, rather it was like water coming out from a hose which is half covered by a finger. so i went to my bike shop and they removed the thermostat cos they said it was the cause of the coolant leakage. is it okay for our bikes to run without a thermostat?

Engines need water and antifreeze to keep cool. Once the water circulates through the engine, it becomes hot. The vehicle's thermostat must recognize the temperature of the water, this way the water is kept cooled, so it does not overheat. Overheating an engine can cause significant damage.
