i oso had a CDI problem before..

yeah, but the thing is, i dont understand why the new cdi that i just changed a few weeks back is not working. ):

but anyway, you get well soon ok? better rest well, then you can be fully recovered with your K.

To weiqiang! I told the uncle (pendek) that i want the handle bar to be inverted, But he said cannot lah (for safety reasons). Well as a first timer i guess its ok lah coz at least got ppl concerned for u. Haha. Sooner or later i will confirm chop gurantee flip over the handle bar to make it look like a cafe racer handle bar. Haha.

think when he want to invert it like cafe racer style, it knocked against the front forks when turning left and right i think.

Its true that i want to get cafe racer look-a-like handle bar but the pendek still insist of installing it the correct way. As i said, still got ppl care for the safety of the riders. Haha. Maybe next time when i install fork boots then i try persuade pendek to invert the handle bar. Quite bad to call him pendek. Haha.

 

Next month after pay day (of course!) i want to buy new stuff like fork boots, speedometer, side mirror, rear suspension and front and rear mud guards. United selling them but i wait coz if buy now i bankrupt. Haha. Anybody wanna follow? (But still early). Haha.

 

To dolphin! I havent project my old tank yet. That project i will also try to post pictures so can see the process of removing the tough and rough patches. All this practical stuff reminds me of DNT (Design & Technology) lesson during secondary school. Fun! Colour im not sure yet. Bear had an idea which looks swee but nvm no need to hurry!

but its not just safety..

 

if ur planning on flipping the handlebars to get the cafe look..

i advise u not to waste time trying..

 

clubman bars are different... theyre clamped onto the top.. and curve forward, and then angled back..

the normal rxk handle bars arent like that..the curve is different.

 

if u flip it over, what ur gonna get is, the bar curving down, and then angled towards u...

sure it MIGHT look like clubmans, but theyre not.

 

Its not comfortable for one thing..

ur riding posture will be very crappy...

and depending on the rise of ur handlebars (some are higher, some lower), when inverted, it might be too low.. and its definitely too close to u...

when u swing ur handles left and right, it might hit the tank..

causing ur very nice paintjob to get whacked real bad in the long run..

if u dont mind discomfort or even a scratched or dented tank,

then consider this.

 

also,

your turning radius might decrease significantly..

which means, its harder to do sharp turns or u-turns..

now that's dangerous..

 

just get clip ons if u wanna go cafe..

or if u really want clubmans, order..

 

anyway, the feeling of having ur handles flipped is just not as nice as getting real clubmans or clip ons.. save abit and make it look and feel the way its supposed to.

 

just my 2 cents..

hope u take into consideration..

Just got my bike back from Ah Hee.

 

Changed the following:

 

Handlebars

Speedo to chromed round ones

Changed my ignition to the side of the bike

Tighten my chain

Lowered my mudguard

New horns

 

Spent about $126 not sure if that's a good price. but the workmanship is good! dont have a camera so cant really show you what he did. The next gathering maybe. He took about 2 days to finish everything.

hey fellow kings, i just got a new headlight, signal relay, horn from united motors (rowell rd). nice guy, pretty ok prices in my opinion.

 

gonna head down planetmotors (ubi rd 1) to install them tmr morning.

 

still looking for a rx100 saddle to wrap at eugene's saddlery; functional dashboard; and circular signal lights. not sure what type to get for signal lights though, united a lot.

 

acap- what paint did you use for your respraying?
