I dont think this car can take normal road abuse for 10yrs or 250,000km. Unless the owners take very very very very good care of it.

Everytime replace worn out parts religiously and service regularly.

The quality just isnt there, sad to say.

Sure it's fun to drive and own it, if you've never owned a car.

But if you are taking a 10 yr loan on this, good luck.

Hey Rebornbiker, let me find you a whole variety of cars much more fun to drive than this ! hoho...

Met plenty of these compact cars on my way to Penang last week. They were doing like 120kph along the hilly section of NSH between Ipoh and Taipin. The Proton Perdanas, probably a V6 3.0 litre, were speeding at speed in excess of 200kph.

I am usually humbled by these malaysia drivers. Got alot of respect for them.

This car is good and cheap, only $18,900 otr without insurance

And for my age and the car price, the insurance cannot be high

Even if there is absolutely no resale value for this car, the most I loose in depreciation yearly is only $1,890

For full 10 years depreciation, it is still much less than 2 years depreciation for my previous car.

My previous car depreciate $10,000/yr

Think I will book it at the end of the month, and squeeze the saleman for more freebies :cheeky:

with a 24k budget in hand i oso thought of buying a honda civic 1.6...close to 10yrs liao...but after the calculations and a visit to the showroom, i decided to buy a kelisa. for the honda civic, i need to put a downpayment of ard $3k depending whether how much loan can i get, then there is the interest rate to be consided which is ard 4%, then there is the thought of if suay suay kena the car going to give u problem, another few thousand down the drain.

For the kelisa, no downpayment but just need to pay for insurance and the first mth instalment which adds up to ard $1200, interest rate at 2.5% for 10 yrs @230 per mth...no worries for maintence cos new car....

jus some info for the rest of the bros here who tink that getting a 2nd hand car is better than buying the kelisa.

I still prefer to buy a second hand car if my budget was only $24k.

You think it's better, i think it's not.

Just a diff in opinion...nothing to prove, cheers

IMHO, this is a great starter car for singles like me. Also great for savvy money savers that want a functional car that can at least get me from Point A to B.
