basically, u need to put 2 names, and buy insurance to cover both parties.

Based on this insurance, if either party passed away, the house is inherited

by the living party i.e. fully paid for. :cheer:

just like a normal life insurance, if the insured pass away, the living family

members get to inherit. :lovestruck:

hmm... i hate to be morbid... but technically speakin..

so if i put my grandparents' name... + my name...

wldnt it be erm....so-called.... "easier" to inherit?

Fooz,

wat MC28 say is correct. :thumb:

Unfortunately, under HDB's policies only the following is allowed:

You, the applicant and;

- your spouse, and children (if any)

- your parents, and siblings (if any)

- your children under your legal custody

(for widowed/ divorced)

However, for private property, i not so sure,

i wonder whether they allow for a granparent and grandchild

combination or not?

Further details can be found here: :faint:

Gents,

if there's anyone here can help me to speculate on HDB flat prices,

i'd be most thankful!

Particularly, a 5-room flat in Blk 625/624 is being sold at the lowest price of $330k.

What in your opinion, will be the price in 2.5 years time,

will it go up or down?

Wild guess oso can.... :D

I'm trying to formulate some kind of a strategy for my next buy... :cheeky:

it would be interesting to note that the affluency of our society is causing lots of yuppies to indulge in private properties as the paper reports a rise in this particular sector.

As far as i believe, property prices will definitely raise up in the future as land for development is quite limited in Singapore..Government selling whatever piece of land they have to pte developers to earn some moolas(Note; The no of condos which suddenly sprout up in BB :sian: )

The matter is how much will it raise up..Definitely cant take the early 90s to compare..The price back then was way cheap as money earn is lesser as well as higher compared to now..Living standard was lower back then..As an investment, 5rm and executive apartment will be a better choice..But as compared to the past, flats nowadays are smaller in size..

I say 330k now maybe sellable for 360-370k in around 3 years time..Depending on the market needs by then..

hmm... m sure whr the exact location of tt blk is.. but whether the price will go up anot, dep on alot of factors... ie... when i moved here.. the mrt n westmall wasnt built yet... now that they are... obviously the price will go up rite? so it dep on the type of amenites u have over thr...

furthurmore, i tink my blk is oso up for IUP... thr was some kinda vote thingy...

so i tink my hse value will rise agn, IF the IUP is sucessful.. last heard, my dwnstairs neighbour sold for close to 400k couple years ago..

hmm... nw tt property prices are on the rise agn... i feel the momentum might continnue for the nx few yrs..

btw, if u dun mind other areas, i tink jurong west is pretty gd... the blk which my gf stays in is an exec.... near boonlay mrt/jurong pt.. 5min walk away... abt the range tt u mentioned oso...

That place isnt good IMHO cos of the factory nearby(The bloody choco smell) and Tengah Airbase..

Usually owners have problems selling off houses from that area..Thus some parts of it is not really occupied yet and cheaper than alot of other location..

haha... one man's meat is another man's poison..

i kinda like the raw choco smell... makes u hungrier most of the time...

as for the airplanes... yea..... i kinda agree on tt... noisy...

but den, i tink u will get used to it... my flat is quite close to the mrt tracks,i can hear them when they go pass, but over the years, i became accustomed to it... so much so tt i dun even realise they went pass (well, other den the fact tt my hp reception will be intermittent when it passes by)

win some, lose some... for the conveniece of the amenties for my ageing parents, i tink i can live with tt...

Fooz,

perhaps its the best location in BB.

Its a set of new blocks.

Amenities:

1. Bus Interchange

2. MRT

3. West Mall (Post Office, Library, Shop n Save, etc)

4. Polyclinic

5. new CSC Club

6. CC

Fooz, yr house is a 5 roomer? wat is the blk no range?

i can check out the HDB last transact price of flats in yr area.

I read a sociological work from a 15th century scholar, and he pointed

that as a country advances, luxury items will be price higher and higher.

As you can see, the prices of luxury cars and homes are very high.

So are those luxury items that are of "the same time" with it. :D

e.g. luxury Watches, bikes...

perhaps, among the HBD flats, these blocks of flats form a "luxury" segment

of the market.

Fooz,

to be exact, while i have not done any homework on JW,

but i am considering JE though.

was looking for Executive Mansionette particularly

Block 330-340s. I noted the trend of price spiralling down

in the past 2 years.

2 years ago valuation was 325k.

A niece bot hers for 305k.

Now, HDB transacted price shows 275k.

This is my other option.

Not decided yet, whether my approach

will be that of an investment, or just looking for something spacious.

6 months to go, before my final decision. :D

MC28,

the choco smell not too bad.

But there is a chemical smell, which is quite pungent.

Not sure is it chlorine or sulphur...

last time when i came back from school and ride pass that

area, i had to stop breathing.. else i get choked... :faint:

But of course, air-condition the whole house, and shut the windows

would solve this problem.

But then again, perhaps its one man's meat is another man's poison.

For those working or schooling in Jurong area, going to work/skool

will be a breeze. :D
