Legal to replace body frame?

The body frame alignment of my bike slightly out after an accident.

Mech said it's beyond repair but still can pass inspection.

I called LTA,but that girl seem to has difficulty to understand my question.

My question: If i manage to find a good old frame of same model,can i replace it,and inform LTA for the changes?

You mean the chassis? If the chassis is damaged there is no way you can replace it as it comes with a unique serial ID which is also the ID of your bike. By law, you have 2 options (applies for all types of vehicles): either scrap your vehicle or export it, even if it is brand new.

 

Since it is a misalignment (hope it's minor) do go to a reliable bike shop to check if it is a hazard. If it's a crack, scrap/export it ASAP.

Yes chasis i meaned.

After ridden my bike,the mech said is safe to ride,i think i just keep riding it till COE expire.

according to lta regulations

u can swap yr engine with another vehicle of the same make & model , 1 of them will have to be scrapped .

 

what does it mean ? buy another bike and scrap this one.

no it means if there is a chasis of the same make and model you can replace it then scrap your pre-existing chasis. It doesnt have to be from a new bike it can come from a bike that is heading for the scrap yard.
