hi, i'm interested Honda Deauville 650. can anybody told me this bike isn't easy to maintance, and the spare part isn't easy to find it? because now i consider buying a 100K mileage and 10 years honda Deauville 650. thank.

hi, good choice on the DV650, it a reliable bike that is built to last.

It is also low on maintenance, the parts are not that difficult to find.

Good luck on your purchase.. And pls join us for our outing when you do!

And to replace the clutch plate , whch part do they replace ?

And how are the $ price ?

Thanks.

I need to clock more mileage into my Deauville.

Can't wait to service the value clearance at 80,000km.

August is a good dry month to tour north to either Malaysia or Thailand.

Also, I m ready for any destination in Thailand:-)

I only recommend one of the many best in town.

Mr Chan (M-TECHNIK). In my opinion is the best person to do value clearance for NT650V.

He is a marine engineer by training. He own a few African Twin that share the same engine pedigree with NT650V. He knows this engine inside out. He is the one that strongly recommend NT650V to my bike correction. Visit his shop and see him service other customer's bike. You will notice his job skill is super fine. He don't rush on any job on hand. He don't cut corner n he used good quality grease. He is cool. Check him out.

If you want to use his service. You have to be cool. His customer base are BMW and big bore twin. NT650 is consider mid size twin. That is my 2 cents.

Harlo to all my DV bros. I have officially sold off my DV yesterday (sob sob), it has bring me much joy and some pain of course over the last 1+ year. It has brought me to my ever first solo bike tour to Phuket and Koh Samui and many shorter trip to Msia. If wife would have allow, I would have keep it and have a second fun bike, but just like many thing in life I have to part with my beloved DV that I have done so much to, especially the radiator and engine, I know the new owner would have many more good years of riding to come... The only and biggest set back of DV is the tissue paper like fairing that seems to crack ever so easily, maybe one of us here should do a carbon fiber version or even the aprilla verson, aprilla fairing is so flexible that you can bend it round and it doesn't crack! Anyway, with my "new" old lady DR650, its fun but not fast, no where close to DV top speed but of course pick up is fun :) I know you guys are friendly and would continue to welcome ex-dv rider, sooner or later we will probably have many other bikes joining this group, now a Ducati and a DR, what's next? Who's next? haha... have a relax wet day, at least Tuas is raining now :)

So here is to my DV with some photo memory:

Sob... Sob.... Bro fishtan.... what a personal sad story.... we are going to miss your friendly company.... Hope you joint us on future tour to land of smile in your DR650 or maybe another NT***V. Sob sob.

This is what you get if you bought a NT650V from a combination of ex uncaring owner and unskilled mechanic. If you have bought a good used NT650V. Your experience on the joy of riding would be otherwise.

NT650 comes with hard plastic for a good reason. Hard plastic was used to make a 100% water proof design to the side boxes. After almost 10yrs, my side boxes are 100% seal.

Most of the time, the side front plastic cover is broke by unskilled mechanic during routine air filter/sparkplug service. Good workman skill is required to open the side front cover bcos they are 100% super fine fitted. The plastic molding is top class standard. They are hard and perfect fit into joints. If they don't understand the designed concept. It will always be abused and cracked by unskilled mechanic.

I will not be surprised to see you owning a NT700V next:-)

When is your next run to the north?

I see you also selling your Deauville ah? Aiyo so many people selling... But having said that I still still quite a few DV on the road, in Tuas itself there is this white 1 and another green one. Seen them on the road a few time already.

Yes sure I will be there for rides if my timing can make it lah, also if you guys go easy on the throttle, cos really DR is not meant for highway speed, yesterday just went in to Msia for patrol cos now safari tank 35 liters and I get 700++ km per tank, anyway on highway I tried and really 100-110km/h is the comfortable speed, anything more than that is pushing it lah.

I doubt I will ever get a NT again unless there is no fairing! haha :) I am quite interested in a Fazer6 for speed run up north lah, fazer6 engine is more expose thus easier for DIY, even the radiator cap is accessible without taking out any fairing. DR6 is good for truck road and off road and camping trip which I am doing as well... Sigh... so what I really need is 2 bike for this schizo thing within me : haha.

No North run this year lah, next year see how... Or if you can call Msia partol run North Run than I am doing that fortnightly! hahahaha...

I think the rate for normal or not so lousy durian in Sg is around $10 per piece? the $10 in sims are quite decent, cannot compare to mao shan wang or anything la of cos. Any cheaper ones the quality i think will be quite bad?

Bro,

I made a mistake of buying 3 “wifes”.

Just imagine, servicing 3 “wifes” per week is softening my knee beyond my age.

Sob sob... hv to sell any one of these three.

Two “wifes” is max for me.

LOL, Its legally correct to do a ave of 105kmh along HS highway all the way to Thailand.

But I am sure to fall asleep on my NTv due to her sofa's comfort ride.

On the other hand, my micro baby CbrR is capable of doing that trip at that speed for half the fuel cost compared to your DR6. Plus the excitement of her RPM screaming at 8k to 9k, and have more juice to pull till 11.5k red line, if required to max out at 135/140kmh.

Being schizo myself. Yet to try it out on my micro baby CbrR.

May try it sometime with any slow n equally schizo rider to Thailand. LOL.
