Hi Fishtan,

can you clearly explain what happen to your pannier? Cos to compare whether it's the same issue like mine last time.

Luckly more1978 and I had some ideas to fix on the locking...

Btw how much did they charge you to patch your cracked hole....???(interested)

Hey Bro.

I did more than just patch. Basically I told them that all the crack and holes to be rebuilt up and then those that is ok one also reinforce and then all the fairing to be under lay with a reinforce layer for fiber glass. So now I know my fairing is strong and will not just shatter into thousand of pieces like some of our brother here have experience.

Problem with the material that deauville is that is that its quite hard which makes it brittler. The newer type fairing which is more flexible will not crack easily.

Not nice to disclose cost here, I would just say below $400. To me its not cheap but for the whole bike, and the work that I saw them put in... ok lah, worth it.

pannier lock problem? which pannier? and what problem? maybe its not big problem.

Hey Mao Mao

Perhaps you can help me with it.

Now its worst, the key can not turn so I can not unlock the left side pannier. The right side pannier is the one that were giving problem in the first place.

Problem is this. The right side pannier very very hard to lock. So when I close the pannier the key is hard to turn to lock it. And when I manage to turn the key, the left side lock perfectly but the right side still not lock.

You think you can help me out here?

Anyone ride their deauville all the way up to thailand (north) and even to Laos or Cambodia before?

I am interested and have some time perhaps in 2 months time, so now planning to make long trip.

Also I am looking at really adventure travel with tent and outdoors stuff. Anyone know how feasible it is to do that all the way along M'sia, Thai and Cambodia?

Posted
no need carbon fiber so high tech lah! if u worry our fairing very easy crack, u can go to ubi a shop ask them make all fiber glass fairing, each side of the front fairing asking $200+, but the screw holes location not perfact as original.

Care to share which shop?

The black panel under the saddle on the right side has lost most of it's mounting holes due to them cracking, so might need to get something rebuilt

Sure Bro. I bought Deauville cos its shaft driven, less maintenance and also quieter then my S4. Also as everyone have pointed out its a sofa on wheels! Can't agree more on that point.

Where about in Thai are you looking at going to?

Also what kind of spares will you be carrying? Perhaps we can even share cost of these spares if our travel plan doesn't clash!

Do anyone where to get those Volt meter? I mean those digital read out type that is fit on your bike so that you can monitor your battery charge constantly? Its like a small little digital display to show you the voltage on your battery. I have seen it on some bike before, red display and some blue.

Where to get and how much?

1), adjust locker hook; or

2), inside srew holes crack, need rebuild or change other screws.

if u can, next deauville group meetup let me see, i fixed mine and given firedragon advise how to fix it. its not very difficult.
