Since I changed my workplace, I've noticed an interesting development in my fuel consumption.

Previously, my commute was 90% expressway mostly during off-peak hours. I was able to average 100+kmh for most part of the journey. Had an average of around 17km/l for FC.

Currently, my commute is a bit shorter. 75% expressway, mostly during peak hours. Averaging 80kmh for most part of the journey, slowly down to 40kmh for some parts. I was surprised to find myself averaging nearing 19km/l for FC.

*scratch my head*

I was expecting my fc to be worse now. But it actually improved. Weird hur?

Goo

Hi all Deauville bros

Next week I will be doing solo trip up north and would love to have all of you be part of the trip by updating you guys on the updates, hopefully I can find internet easily.

The plan is 26 Apr - 4 May (9 days) and the idea is

day1 - Hat Yai

Day 2-3 Phuket

Day 4-5 Hua Hin

Day 6-7 Koh Sanmui

Day 8 - Hat Yai

Day 9 - home sweet home

This is a free and easy trip so I might hit Hat Yai and love it so much that I spend 9 days there!! haha :) But at least I have a plan lah.

I should have everything I need, left with a fuel pump and a foot pump for tire. So if anyone of you have these 2 item and willing to loan for my trip, it will be greatly appreciated. Can contact me at 96944425.

Any advise or warning is also appreciated on what to look out for. This is the first time I am traveling this far and alone. Furthest I have done is KL and many years ago.

So I am looking forward to this and also let all you die hard Deauville fans know that may it be 650 or 700, we have a bike that can do wonders. If not for Bangkok political issue, I would want to extend another 3-4 days to hit Bangkok.

So praying hard and preparing all that I can and leave the rest to God and I am sure things will goes wrong but that would be part and fun of advanture riding :)

Good luck fishtan for ur trip. I just had my thai trip with the deauv last month. Comfortable bike, if a little slow. If u do many night riding, i suggest u bring along some spare bulbs, esp the headlight if u're riding the 650, as it only has a single headlight. Have fun!

Rode behind a cool maroon NT650, FS #197, this morning going towards South Buona Vista Road (the beginning of the series of bends), but I turned right into NUS PGP.

Wonder if it is one of you Deauville owners here? :) :thumb:

I was wondering if any of you are using your smartphone/iPhone/Gphone as GPS navigation while riding?

The space right behind the windscreen (covering the digital clock) is super protected but does anyone have a good solution for a mounting?

I only plan to use it on smooth Singapore roads, so it does not have to be bullit proof...

a couple of us have used GPS for our rides up north, Garmin comes along with the suction mount (normally used for cars windscreen) which have worked well for me so far on my windscreen, but i guess it would be best still to improvise some sort of rope or anything else u can think of to ensure you dont lose your gadget in the unfortunate event the suction loses its strength through bumps and vibrations etc.

OK, that's a bit too scary for me. The suction cup drops off the windscreen in my car every month or so, so that's a no-no on the Deauville.

I ended up epoxy-glueing a normal handphone holder onto a RAM-mount that I have been using for my GPS. That's the sturdiest system I've ever seen.
