I was thinking the price should be abt 19 to 20k otr. That the price for a fz8 now. 24k if it's machine price than it's abit too high.

There's nothing else that hurts other then your own ego

The new Deauville price listed in pounds is 6,200. This works out to be around S$12k.

Even if you factor in COE, accessories and local dealer's profit, I doubt that it will come to S$24k.

Its more likely around S$15-16k OTR. Maybe even lesser considering that Euro has been rather weak recently.

Pound is 1pound is to S$2.70+ , so 6200 pound x 2.7 + = bike price (exclude GST, import fee, Arf fee, COE, Road tax......etc).... then you will know why

No point guessing the price. If you are really interested, the best thing to do is to call Boon Siew. Alternatively, you can check out dealers like Mah or the parallel importers like Looi or Excel.

Imagine the last white Honda VFR 800( stock w/o side panniers ) which is chain drive was already sold at a price of $27K, and the Honda DN-01 cost $28K ( using the same deauville NT700 engine ). So roughly the new Honda Deauville should not be around $15 - $16K.

I wish deauville price is 15-16k OTR, So we will have more member can afford to buy the bike and join us for fun and I also can change to 2010 model, but sad to say is $24k. if I am not wrong even Super 4 now is around 18k+/- OTR. STX 13 is around $32k OTR (correct me if I am wrong.) do let us know if any shop still have new deauville NT700 07-10model ABS at the price of 15- 16K OTR. I believe a few of deauville lover who love to have it.

http://www.bikerzbay.com/index.php/motorcycle-information/1-honda/433-2010-honda-nt-700v-deauville.html (Price in US $)

Wah seh, and I thought S$ is gaining on other currencies. Am just glad I found this old deauville abandoned in one corner of Gopa's shop when I did.

After throwing the old fuel tank and getting a 2nd-hand tank from a scrapped model, my deauville is going strong clocking roughly 19+km/l.

Its fitting for my 50+km round trip to the office and back.

The DN-01's cost is stacked after factoring in the cost of Honda's new-fangled Multi-mode transmission technology. This part I can understand.

$24k for the 2010 Deauville? Wow...

2.70 is old rate. Currently, 1 sterling pounds trades for 2.02 sing.

But you are right. I forgot the all important ARF. This critical bugger stacks another 30% on top of the machine price.

Aiyo with all the rain, everyone please ride safely!

Just got back my bike from shop cos saw my volt meter not passing the 12.5V mark no matter what rpm and no matter switch off all lights etc... And you guess it, magnet coil need changing or some call it stator coil... Anyway all the regular shop no stock so last choice go to BS and I become a carrot for them to chop! The aunty even give me discount some more still it was at least $100 more than what ever success quoted me last time.

Oh well on the bright side of thing, now the bike really healthy and I even took the chance to install hella horn... woah, now I love pressing my horn button!! haha...

Anyone for Kulai Nasi Lemak one of these night?

I can't believe that Deauville is now $24K.

I was at Looi's in Aug just looking around and was quoted the following OTR price:

STX $29K - only a few units left at that time as it is no longer in production and has been replaced by VFR1200

VFR1200 > $30K+ Can't remember the exact figure

FJR $30K

GTR $33K

Might by higher now as COE has gone up.

At HKL:

FZ6 was about $12800 machine price + ERP + COE + GST + Road Tax + Ins

FZ1 $17800 machine price + ERP + COE + GST + Road Tax + Ins

Guess I'll ride my Deauville for another 2 years and then renew COE.

Posted

Cost of the VFR1200 was $36K in Sept w/o panniers.

The next bike( Honda crossrunner 800 ) that is using the Honda VFR V4 engine, but with standard ABS will be more than $30k too.

Anyway Honda bikes are still much more expensive than other brands beside continental bikes.

Alternatively, you can check out the following on www . sgbikemart . com . sg:

Yamaha XJ6-N Diversion (Brand New) - $15,999 OTR excl. ins

Yamaha XJ6-S Diversion (Brand New) - $16,500 OTR excl. ins.

Yamaha Fazer FZ8-N (Brand New) - $15,500 machine price

Yamaha Fazer FZ-8S (Brand New) - $15,900 machine price

- Get a white one, add panniers and look like TP.

Yamaha XJR-1300 FI (Brand New) - $16,800 OTR

Only problem is that all these bikes do not come with panniers, which can always be added on after market, and they are all chain drive.

The Crossrunner looks... generic... like the result after Suzuki had a one night stand with Yamaha without contraception.

Already doing long-term planning for my next bike. As age catches up, I am looking at a big cc auto.

I was expecting something like Honda Mid Concept after they came up with the Multi-transmission for DN-01.

http://www.asphaltandrubber.com/bikes/honda-mid-concept-scooter/

Its a pity that the Mid Concept looks like crap.

If Honda were to come up with a 3-wheeler like Gilera Fuoco, I would be the 1st in line, the price be damned!

Chain-drive.... zzzzz...

Once you've been shafted, you probably would not consider chain-drive anymore.

I am sick and tired of having to lube those chains every few days. And then trying to clean up the greasy Tyre rim mess after.

Its my primary reason for choosing Deauville. No more mess!

The Mid Concept is fugly.

Was talking to my mechanic today and he said that the DN-01 is actually pretty good. Fully auto transmission, but with power and good fuel economy.

My Kawasaki Ninja 500 has chain drive. Oiled the chain once every few months. Rode it for 10 years before I got my Deauville. Never understood the need to oil the chain regularly, but I never had problem with the chain. Only problem was with the rectifier.

Yer, I was seriously interested in the DN-01 when the images first came up. Shaft drive leh but $28k!!! Guess I have to starve for the next 3 years before I can afford it.

Hehehe... looks like I am putting my focus back to DN-01 until Honda comes up with something better.

Your mechanic says its good? Has someone bought the bike for use in SG already?

I dunno, my 1st bike was a phantom 200. Same as you, I did not bother to lube the chain and ended up changing the damn thing 2 times within the year. Mind you, that's with my mech oiling it every month when I go for EO change.

That must have been some darn good quality chain you are using on your ninja.

I have seen at least one on the road, but not one I know.

Looks quite futuristic.

The new VFR also have an auto clutch and gear shift. Reviews look quite good. The bike looks better in real life than in the photos. Saw one at Looi's in Aug when I was too free and was drooling over all the new bikes there.

As far as I could remember, I have only changed the chain once or twice over the 10 year period. Was never sure what chain was being used on my bike.

Hi Johnson,

Hopefully you are able to ride your white Deauville NT700 for the meet-up,after spending a substantial amount and tedious time in proper safe keeping, maintaining and polishing of your new toy......Lol.

Anyway Merry Christmas to all Deuville bros here.
