cause very suitable for transport

hehe, scared too old bike lots of problem, that's why i got a wave in the first place, else, i would have gone for a VFR400... good luck in yr hunt for a wave....

IMO, useless as wave can run fast and the OEM brakes are doing fine for me, maybe could do with a better brake pad plus steel braided hose...

hi guys...i need to change my engine oil...also recently my wave...kns...always stall engine while waiting at red-light on 1st gear....anyone can advise what is wrong?...also even my electric/kick start is not working as good as usual liao. when i start engine in the morning...i need to start a few times or the engine will always die off....very angry...

 

i would like to change my gear chain and procket also.....

sigh...talk about outing...i would like to join...but i think of my wave thats giving some problem...i feel pai sei liao....sure will fall behind while riding with you guys...

engine oil anywhere oso can change. engine stall maybe ur iding(dunno how to spell) is 2 low. try tune abit higher. all bike after sometime sure need choke to start in the morning.. morning engine cold..so its should be normal. chain can change, spocket try to change back orginal size. if change other size ur speedo wont be accurate. change too big engine will vibrate more, will have better pickup, but ur topend will be slower. change too small no pickup, topend oso wont increase alot. up to u. as for ur vibrating, go do a check on ur swingarm sub. maybe its loose, might not be engine problem.do a simple check by mounting ur bike on the mainstand.(rear wheel not touching the ground). start engine engage 1st gear throttle on n c ur swingarm vibrate or move ard or not.

hope tis help. all above mention is for orginal wave without mod on engine or whatsoever...

i suppose a major overhaul would be too big case for yr wave bah

the stalling problem could juz be due to the carburettor and it's related components

idling screw...spark plug...tuning..etc

 

and as potato recommended...sprocket try to change back original size lar...so that yr engine components wont be unecessary stressed due to the bigger or smaller sprockets

 

as for the problem u face when starting the bike in the morning...

perhaps u can try throttling abit immediately after it start for ard half to 1min?? it would be quite difficult to maintain the throttle as the rpm would drop as the engine is still cold...so play ard w/ the throttle...close abit open abit...etc but dont zhua the throttle

 

or u may consider a change of engine oil

what oil u using now?

im currently using castrol r4...some pple may find it a waste to use r4 on a wave...but to me...i use r4 because i find it easily to start bikes in the morning when using r4

another reminder to add

if after a few tries w/ the electric starter and yr bike still doesnt start

pls change to use the kick starter instead

excessive usage of the electric starter is bad

sigh...too bad all of you stay in the west lah...i stay north leh....if not can meet up and show u guys my wave...(no mod at all)...see if you guys got any tips on how to make it a better bike....

 

the engine oil i use is the Esso 4T Gold...$15 every change by Eunos Super Bike....if anyone of you change engine yourself, chio me along leh...i can learn some DIY from you all also....hahahah....
