i just got my first bike a couple of months ago, and i'm a newbie to this bike business.. how often do you guys need to top up your engine oil? i didn't check my engine oil dip stick for the last 2000km and its gone dry (i check the dip stick got no oil at all - the oil didn't even reach the minimum mark). i think i must have caused alot of damage to my bike engine already. what damage does riding without engine oil cause to my bike?

Always ride safely and defensively.

Repair bike cheap and fast,

Repair body expensive and slow.

even though the engine oil is dry, the bike still functions normally. i don't feel any loss of power or engine sound difference. anyway every 1000km you will top up your engine oil, then how often will you do an egine oil change? is it when u bring to the workshop for servicing (5000km)?

ok, for me, i only change spark plug n engine oil only, no full servicing.

spark plug every 10000km, then EO is 5000km for fully syn n 3000km for semi syn, +-500km then i go change liao

regardless your bike is 2 stroke (2T/4T) or 4 stroke (4T), immediate task now is to top them up before any riding, including riding to the mechanic.

my ride is a 4 stroke bike, change $12/L semi-syn eo every 2k kms, check eo level about once a week. change $3 ngk r spark plug every 4-5k kms or when required. if dunwan to change so often, can also take plug out to check condition, clean and put back

may all be well and happy

I think he classify 2T/4T as EO.

Here goes:

Woah, if you ride 2t bike must frequently change(top up) your EO(2T) de. Cos your engine will get 2t. If 4t, then you go check you bike le, why is the engine eating your EO. (4 stroke bike not supposed to burn up the 4T, so even if it the level drops, it'll be minimal)

You might want to check your engine oil, tyre pressure, etc on a weekly basis.

It only takes a few minutes of your time; avoids damage to your engine, or even worse, endanger your life.
