har har har... its IS the 'in' thing mah.... by the way, it actually just a say tht its the last post for the day only.... if u turn the word abit.... like, 'good-bye', tht didn't mean the person will not come again, just parting words for the day.

unless, the word like,"i'm out of this thread forever', then it ... har har har

ohhhh i thought they don't wanna post here anymore.. paiseh paiseh.. my bad.

hi guys im new so hope u guys can help. anyone know how much is a new gsxr400 otr. me dunno want take super 4 or gsr400, blur blur. hope u guys can help
1500 can get already. but if you're talking bout GSR400, then you have to multiply by ten. so in short, 1 GSR can buy you 10 GSX-R 400s. the choice is obvious my brother. anyway GSR maintenance high cos of Class 2 related equipment, no after-market pipes and pretty bad fuel consumption according to some. so its up to you to decide..

Hello Jazzy,

Are you getting the Spy two way alarm? I know a few of us have it installed on our bikes... and it is still ok to squeeze it on top of the ECU. The main unit is slightly bigger than a cigarette box. What you need to put under your seat is the main unit and the antenna for the alarm signal to your remote. The alarm siren "has to be" fixed in either of your rear exhaust cover. "has to be" is just what I recommend becos when I fix it, the mech and myself spent quite sometime searching for available "hidden pocket" to hide the siren... you do not want the siren to be exposed... otherwise the wire can be cut and no point putting an alarm. Furthermore, putting the siren inside the rear exhaust cover may amplify the sound of the siren becos of the hollow design :D

Wow talk so much ... only to explain the alarm... anyway, all talk but no help ... so if you really need explanation or help, feel free to pm me and I will be glad to help. Of cos, if you want ... we can meet up and I will show you how mine is installed.

Cheers...

Happy New Year to all my Chinese bros... and Happy holidays to all my other bros... May this new 2009 year bring us more fun trips, more "poisons" to our GSR, more supper runs, more $$$ :D, more health, and more friends to make.... but most importantly... make 2009 another year of safe riding and accident free for all of us!

Peace to all Brothers...

Goood morning everyone!

Wah long time i never post at SBF... hahaha

Bro i think if u want to share about where to place the alarm better do it through PM or during meet up... Scared later people know where we hide it

But if u want to give reviews i think should be ok... personally I never try spy before, I have tried Steelmate & Scorpio only... I heard Spy also got made alarm for cars :)

Btw I like ur last statement

Lastly Happy Chinese New Year to my Chinese bros & Happy Holiday to my other bros :cheeky:

I guess i'm the last one to wish :faint:

Hi I intend to get a 2 way alarm from a guy at the PMO thread. But need advise from those who might have fixed alarm on their gsr.Any probl fixing the main alarm unit under the seat??from what I see it's bit cramp liao.

You may wanna consider how waterproof the area that you wanna install the alarm is. Unless the unit is weatherproof, then it does not matter.

Do your homewerk and look around first. Finding a place is 1st priority. I put mine in the tool box area. It amplifies the sound by quite a lot. The main unit muz be place in the centre of the bike (if possible). THis is so that it is able to get the "vibrations" from the front and back.

Ohhh ya....have a happy CNY!!!

anyway this is my experience. take it wth a little bit of salt ya?!

during my S4 days i do use bike alarm. well alarm, canvas, lock, etc are just to deter the thief from 'tampering' with the bike but if u are 'targetted' then this thief will do their homework by monitoring u and once all the data collected, they will do their job.

anyway, during my S4 days, practically nearly every year i have to change the battery. if i have to left my bike for a week (for a holiday), then i have to disconnect the battery and put it at home (but then the purpose of the alarm won't be effective). the bike have to be used (ride around)at least once every two days. as u know alarm will eat power and the power in the battery is not infinite. and it is common knowledge that the battery voltage shouldn't drop till a certain level cuz after that charging the battery won't charge it.

anyway, on my current GSR, its already 2 years plus, and i still using stock battery..... even after 5 days of not using the bike, the cranking still sound crispy...... hmmm, why ah?!?!? har har har

EHEM!!! U should highlight the word 'Suspension'. coz noone wanna steal GSR rear Suspension. everyone 'looking' for S4 suspensions. that gives us a lil bit of relief..

juz wanna share it with u guys.....no offense....peace:)

http://www.bikez.com/bike/rating.php?idbike=28308

Wow ... GSR600 wins hands down on most of the reviews... Most important of all the reviews is the accident risk... it is the most safest naked bike :D

However, when a review that has overly too much good points on the bike ... it becomes very skeptical... it could just be marketing propaganda..

How accurate or true is the review... no one really knows... as it is only reviewed by 3 persons:dot:

I must agree. How come it ranks as one of the highest accident risk? Maybe if other ppl see then accident I believe.

The truth is accident cause by ppl not bikes. My thoughts.

I'm planning to buy a pair of slip-on for my GSR 600, I'm not Singaporean, however I fly in and out of Singapore pretty regularly. Could you tell me when can I get a pair of Scorpion, Akrapovic or Mivv slip-on for my bike? And how about the cost?

Thank you very much

Good Morning people! Something to share.

For the past few days, I was on project "wire-smart". This project is to ensure that the wires are neatly tuck away for my horns, voltmeter, erp unit, LED lights and powerlet. The project was a success. Managed to squeeze many wires in the bike. I also managed to do a switch that can toggle between battery power and power when the ignition is switch on (for the project devices that is).

Here is what I find out. I tap the power from 2 sources (Battery and license plate light). The voltmeter readings between the 2 has a difference of only 0.1v. (12v - Battery; 11.9v - License Plate Light) Unlike the 1st one which I tap from the ignition key section which gives me around 11.6v. When moving off, the voltage is so stable that I do not need a headache to see the meter. It shows constant 14.0v-14.2v. Unlike the ignition key (13.4v-14.1v). It makes sense coz from the battery to license plate light, only 0.1v is consumed.

I am not asking everybody to tap to the license plate light. Just something to share of what I found out.

As I dont live in S'pore, I think the best way for me is to email the vendors for the price, right?

So could somebody give me some potential email address so that I can directly contact them?

Hi guys,

I am riding a GSR400 like alot of you over here but i am facing a big problem here. I changed my front tyre last month. It is a ContiSports Attack tyre and while travelling along the road today, it burst and send the whole bike flying in the air. I managed to land properly without falling but due to the impact, the front rim is dented and cracked.

Due to this new year days, I could not find a workshop capable of changing it for me and I am afraid that the impact might damage the fork too.. anyone can advice me what to do as the repair might come up to a big amount (I believe) and where can i send it to ensure reliablity.

THANK FOR ALLL THE ADVICE FIRST..

how can a tubeless tyre burst? must have pumped in the wrong pressures or it's a defective tyre. anyway, its adviseable that you change tyres as a pair or at least of the same model and brand due to the different charateristics of different tyres.

anyway, you can always try Racewerks or Unique Motorsports, both of which are in the advertisers' board of this forum. cheers.

man!!! tubeless tyre burst?!?!? man, from ur description, when the tyre burst, u have one hell of a wheelie!!! sure heart stop one!!!

either the tyre suckz big time or u have air pressure on the high side and also u ride aggresive where u take corner like in a circuit....

it sure cost a bomb if u change ur rim, service the forks, change tyre (of course) and change the cone bearing. from my experience in driving cars, car rims can be send back to be 'service', especially those low profile rim, once these kind of rims hits a port hole, the rims ends will sure bend and this will lead to air lost. but i don't know if bike rims can be done the same. Dzal had change his rear rim and it costs abt S$600 (correct me if i'm wrong, Dzal).

based on ur 'feeling', when the front wheel wheelie up and then land back, is the impact hard? if the impact is hard, ur cone bearing may be damage too. if money is an issue, well if it was me, then i will change the rim and tyre first. then ride and test whether the forks is still okay or not.

anyway, for the rest of u guys, u can know when the tyre was manufactured by checking the code on the side wall of the tyres and never buy a tyre more than 2 year old. and also, after changing a tyre, do go to the nearest petrol kiosk and double check the tyre air pressure, some bike shope tends to over pump the tyre due the process of installing the tyre to the rim.

it was a really hard landing.. still not sure of the extend of damages.. but i am sure it will be out for a long time while the rim is replaced. Any location you all know that have ready stock rim for replacement?? The tyre that burst already cost me a bomb now its gone too... juz pray that the fork no problem... by the way the impact caused my box to break tooo.. u all can juz imagine that. I manage to control without falling is a blessing lo... haiz..

Yup... I had my rear rim changed for 'free', all thanks to "that" bike shop (Im being sarcastic here)..

Bike shop can get the rims in less than a day. All they need to do is to call up their suppliers, and get their despatch rider to get it.

Hopefully the front suspension dont bent!!!
