I went to the shop yesterday about 1 pm, to look and the cause of damage on my ride. I observed they were charging my battery and aksed me to wait. Later the mechanic came and told me my rectifier had screwed. I asked him how can that happen, he just explained that its probably due to manufacturer fault. They changed my battery fully and changed a new rectifier for me. They also put on a volt meter for me. Cost of damage $25/- for the tow truck. The rest is FOC. The bike is up and running and i had just reached office safety. Thanks to all the concern the bros have here. Cheers.

Wah... so good huh? Got a new rectifier and a voltmeter FOC. ;)

I bet they know that it's their fault so they try to give you some FOC item to make you happy happy... :p

Anyway, they did not change your battery? Should have asked for a new battery as well because ... who knows, it could be the battery that caused the rectifier to "burnt-out"... just look for for any unstable voltage reading in your volt meter... if you are travelling on road, your volt meter should read steadily >13v - 14v. Anything >16v please go straight to your bike shop again becos it will "burnt" your rectifier again. Idliing votage is around 11-12v. I am using my volt reading as an example.

Cheers.... good to know that your baby is back on road again!

Hello ... good to know that you're interested in this bike :D

Fuel consumption ranges from 18-25km per litre. It depends on many factors, your riding style, tyre pressure, other mods that you might add to your bike that improve mileage...etc.

Maintenance wise, this is a class 2a bike, but it has the maintanance equal to that of class 2 bike. Compared to S4 Spec 2/3 ... I think S4 Spec 2 win hands down on maintenance cost.

One more factor you have not considered is the resales value. Definitely this bike has a very low resale value compared to Honda S4...

Overall, people who goes for this bike is the look and feel of it... if you do not mind those negative comments that I have mentioned above, this GSR is really an incredible bike... those who have ride it and owed it will know.

hi guys.

this rainy morning i skidded and crashed into the center divider at CTE. the car infront jammed brakes for no apparent reason (i believe he forgot his cashcard as it was near the gantry). i applied both brakes but thanks to my radial brake pump, the front wheel locked. i tried to regain control but couldnt so i swerved to the right and crashed into the railing. fortunately i didnt hit the car otherwise my premium will shoot up and my NCD burnt. its a miracle that both me and my wife didnt suffer any injuries; not even cuts and bruises (just a minor one on my leg as the bike fell on me). i picked up my bike and it was still road-worthy to continue our journey. luckily, i was going only 35km/h; any faster, i would have been killed.

damages:

1. headlight assembly ($280 from eversuccess at lembu road)

2. ermax windshield (my 3rd one BTW)

3. right slider some scuff marks

4. my right box now has a hole

5. IU bracket snapped

6. a bank with about $300 lesser

so take care guys. its a miracle that my wife and I are still walking and very much alive.

rien d'autre que le max.

Tho the bike doesnt sound good...

Anyway... had close calls past few days, esp recently when a P plate car cut me in the filter lane from behind me tho it is a two lane filter lane... had to swerve outwards... I signalled all that and i dont get why people want to speed in filter lanes...

He even dared wind down and cursed me as I rode up to the 1st lane beside him while he was in the second lane...

Thank god my gf was behind and asked me to cool down.

My gf knew also it was the guy's fault as she freaked out at the speed the guy went and overtake me so close beside me occupying both lanes at the left filter...

Thank god nothing happened cos I be so grieved should anything had happened to my gf...

Ride safe guys...

need some advice..i was travelling along PIE today at about 80-90kmh - and suddenly the engine stalled. There wasnt any lights either. I pushed the bike to side road, and tried re-starting the bike and i couldnt. I removed the seat and tried checking the fuse there and tried again, therein i heard a hissing sound something like when trigger both the positive and negative cables. I put seat over again and called for it to be towed back to the shop as this bike is only about 13days old. I then went to my office, later upon the tow truck arrival they called me, i went down and pushed the bike, as when i wanted to push the bike i then tried cranking up again and to my amazement the bike cranked, nevertheless i still decided to have it towed to the bike shop so that they could diagnose the problem. Have anyone of you come across simillar problems. COuld it be my Battery or Recitifier? FYI this bike is a brand new bike and its only about 13 days on the road. The milleage is about 800KM.

YUP encountered this before with my R1. could be the same problem. came out from bike shop, they never connect the battery properly, vibrations causing it to on/off giving supply, and it fry the rectifier and the coil few days only. once it cooled down it can start again but then it will stall again omce it is hot....

Cheers.

I can bet, its their fault for not tightening the positive and negative screws on the battery..

so by having a voltmeter, u can know whether ur coil, rectifier or battery having problems... good call...
