Yes, you still need to service your EFI unit.

Regularly, you need to have your Throttle Bodies (the TB) serviced, meaning taken out & cleaned. Usually its done together when you do a valve-clearance calibration. Most shops know how to do it as its quite similar to servicing a carb but less "tuning" required.

Less often, you might need to send your Denso injectors to be cleaned ultrasonically. Its done very rarely and usually if you suspect the injectors are malfunctioning due to being clogged up. Problem is, hard to find a good shop that can do it correctly, not the ca-pa-lang shops that take it out and clean with petrol. Best guess would be those high-end car workshops that service BMWs, Mercs, Jags, etc. Would be sure they have the proper equipment to do it.

Generally, EFI units require less maintenance compared to carbs, advantages lies in the simple fact that most EFI bikes have a fuel filter that prevents impurities from clogging up the TBs & injectors. At most, you need to calibrate the TPS & sync the 4 TBs.

But, when a full maintenance is required, EFI units costs more to service & maintain.
