The indicator got 3 position, high - middle - low, manual stated middle. But there are many variations ..

EXAMPLE only: at 0-3=low , 3-6 =middle , 7-10=high. Even on '3' , its still middle..as recommended on manual ..

The best setting is set it to '6' or '7'.

I don't know if you can understand it ..

Why I can really feel my bike jerkness is that, when i check the tps ..my "-" is in the lower middle position .....as from

my example above..mine is at '3'....

Maybe DIY session ?? But someone need to get the T25 anti tamper screwdriver ...

I dont have that screwdriver, thus i use plier to loosen the screw..but i need to remove the throttle case..super hard method..easy way is to get mini rachet set. Cost $25..no need to remove even the airbox ..just lift tank will do ..

I have!!! hehhehe how?

Hello Friends,

Castrol is the choice (atleast majority) of Oil in UK for bikes.. I find that castrol not much in use in Singapore. I would like to hear any experience in using Castrol

Safe Rides

I have tried that EO..... Kinda rough oil le..

Who what where when?

I am using castrol 15 50

So far it is fine... have not tried it in touring circumstances yet tho...

Last was OWS synthomax 5 60, good when long dist and engine running at high revs, smooth operation (as can see from vis level)

But slow rides and early phases of riding, a little off...

Verdict after adjusting TPS.

---------------------------

- Day 1: Morning -

Dunno if true or not, I feel less/no jerk at the 4.5K rpm 'sweet' spot. But it seems like that jerkiness has moved up to maybe 5K or 6K rpm. (After getting the TPS to medium setting). Still trying it out. It could be my 'butt' effect.

I want to help in cleaning the chain.. Since I was using the chain wax, the chain is dirty. I also want to clean the air filter as I feel bike is not breathing resulting in frequent stalling. Temp is also very high in the range of 90 even in long travel. It could also be due to the timing and I need some help with that..

May be the bike has not got the regular servicing it needs.. Looking at the manual, it ask us to do quite much.. Any one who specializing in GSR servicing

Take care Bro

Safe Rides

Hey There,

I just got my bike about a month or so ago, and faced the same problem as you did. The factory wax on the chain attracted tons of dirt, dust, and debris, on top of the chicks that it already is destined to make wet.

So I removed and cleaned off the wax. All you need is 30 mins, a small paintbrush, a toothbrush, and kerosene. (or diesel, but the former's easier to get your hands on). Clean and scrub it thoroughly. Gloves are optional, I prefer the natural feeling. ;)

Do remember to lubricate your chain after that though, and let the chain oil sit overnight before riding the next morning.

Personally I endorse what one of our fellow forumers tested regarding the relationship of the number plate position and the temperature of the engine. Placing the metal plate in between the forks on the fork protector does hamper the flow of air to our radiators, causing a slightly higher temperature.

I myself wasn't too happy with a cruising temperature of 83-85 at night and 88-92 in the day.

Bought the sticker number plate and stuck it onto the display casing,or above the headlight. The size, font, and actual placement is up to your daring and taste of course.

Immediate results. Cruising temperature is reduced by a firm and definite 2 degrees celcius, and at times even more.

Some may dislike the idea of a cooler engine and may come up with hypothermic explanations as to why we must keep the temperature above a certain range, but hey, Suzuki didn't design their bikes with their consumers placing a number plate directly in front of their radiators did they. But its just 2-3 degrees celcius. Totally up to you. May not be a big deal at all.

I may be new and definitely do not know as much as the folks around here, but we're all here to learn.

As a fellow new rider I can totally relate to your concerns and will try to address them whenever I can. Its tough being a noob, but hey, can't say we don't try. Haha.

Hahah will need to borrow surgeon's camera scope to do that if dun wanna bring up the tank...you will also need the surgeon's patented robotic arms. Unless you have 'ladies' fingers.

1. Not fair to say coz the COE keeps going up and down. Best you go window shopping first and from there you can know.

2. Almost all carry. Take note..GSR400 is parallel....agent wont entertain.

3. So far only my pocket problem/fault.
