The tip isn't a big deal... just screw it back on....

I'm a bit puzzled that your 150 uses long thread plugs... It shouldn't. Can you confrim this? Eg, take the cylinder head off and make sure that the plug doesn't protrude from the base of the head....

Running a long thread plug in a shortthread hole is a bad idea!

I am pretty sure my 150 uses long thread :) the uncles at Tong Aik told me that, and I have been using long thread plugs for 1 years plus. I didnt know only px200 uses long thread haha, thanks for the info, next time when i send my vespa to service I'll ask them about it .

Anyway yesterday was too busy, didnt have time to go down tong aik, and today they close at 630, couldnt make it. How i wish they sell plugs at spark ntuc o_O

on the glovebox? then where u do the bracket for the IU? the shop can do for u is it?

Yup. The bracket is just a piece of metal. The mechanic will pick a suitable one, modify to suit (not necessarily), screw it onto the desired part of your Vespa and fix the IU unit on it. May need to do some drilling. :cheeky:

See? In the black cover.

i tried taking a closer look but all i could gather was that it was from an area of the engine closest to the right side of the rear wheel.am not sure if it's engine oil or 2t though my 2t level has been down really low.added more only to start noticing a little white smoke.oops.am not sure about the 2t too as since its auto lube amt added in wont make a diff would it?

i heard previously that if you stick your finger in and the 2t touches the tip then it should be about the right amt.if going by that saying then mine is way low down. :) just added 200ml last night and now it seems like there's no diff really.. haha maybe it's just in my mind.

anyway thanks sharpey and the other guys/girls in the forum for all your insightful tips and solutions to queries.read through the 100 over pages and learned so much.though i think my eyes might begged to differ.:giddy:

:) This could be a leaky seal.... get it checked by a mechanic...

Don't add more oil to the gas tank if you have an autolube... the autolube system is VERY reliable (if looked after properly)... I say VERY because there is a misnomer that they break.... yeah they do break, when people don't look after them....

Adding more 2T is a simple affair... when you see the bubble in the sight glass (of if on an indo scoot - when you see the oil light come on on the speedo)... then just add a 1 litre bottle to the oil tank.... no messing about getting your fingers dirty.

If you can imagine that the oil tank is bolted to the bottom of the fuel tank, then by the time you've filled it up enough to be able to touch the surface with your fingers its probably too full...

The pain in the eyes... I remember it well :) I only got into this whole Scootering thing in 2004...

Thanks sharpey!think i might be bringing it down to TA soon cos my little lamb is now acting really strangely. i used to have trouble startin it, maybe 10-15 kicks? even after pulling the choke, tilting the bike etc.moreover, it kept dying in 1st gear and would so too in neutral when i released the clutch.thought it might be the timing and hence after adjustment it worked perfectly.till today.could only get it up and going after a while though i had just ridden a short while back.and when i was traveling uphill in second gear( ~40-50km/h) i started losing speed drasticaly, felt like as though it lurched back slightly.opened throttle a little more only to sustain the speed DECREASE before the engine died.started it up again by the side but it died a short distance away while i was dropping gear.hmm.....danger danger.

oh the 2t im currently using is esso 2t pace which is fully synthetic, coloured(green) and perfumed.haha.so i have never seen the bubble cos cant really tell through the colour.the previous owner told me to top up once the green has "faded".not to sure what that meant so has been topping up periodically though i think in the morning i might act on your advice and pour in a whole bottle first.haha.might try shell's one soon.

btw. does all paint shop remove the old paint on the vespa before applying the new ones? cos i want to remove the old paint before applyin the new paint...

and also, i went to TA to change to a 24/24 carb on my px200. then the auntie told me "...urs is a px200 what for change to 24/24 carb??..."

anyone of u know the reason to this?

arhhh i bought new sparkplugs and changed it, but still cannot start up... I put the plug near metal part of engine and kick start, no sparks. I guess the coil is spoilt again~~

I changed the cheap indian coil(95 dollar) at tongaik this year jan, it lasts exactly 1 year :(

wondering how often you guys have to change coil?

and do we need to do anything to take care of coil? Usually I only have to kick once to start engine....

Need to get tongaik come and tow my bike again, 4th time in abt 14mth! I guess this time I'll get the good quality coil(ducati?), anyone knows the price? I remember its close to 200.

sad..

nah i dont think most paint shop will remove the old paint work for u, the most they will usually do is to light sand the surface down to flat and spray paint it over..unless other wise indicated to the painter and be physically there to see it. if u wanna a complete remover of the paint and patty base it's gonna be a long and costly job to do.

Unless you go to blast & peen (google them).... I did a front fender and horncast there recently as a trial... super results... Will be doing the entire scoot some time in feb... will let you all know how it goes...
