Ah Pek do you have the fan switch which can be used on Suzuki Impulse, the switch is mounted at the thermostat housing for Suzuki unlike S4 on the radiator, and it much bigger. Looking for switch which can activate at 75 degree c. Current switch on my bike the activation temp is higher, according to the suzuki agent is 85 degree c.

The switch looks exactly like the one below for reference. The fan switch is actually behind (trace from the blue wire), both the fan switch and the cut off switch (if exceed more than certain temp to cut off engine) look identical

I cn't affirm this if thje S4 ones can be used but I did seen Suzuki ones being used on S4. Yes..some people like to have an earlier cut-on point but on the expensive of the fan reliability..kind of a trade off. S4 ones I remembered correctly is about 102 degreed c (exceed 100 degreed c or boiling point)..at least that's on a S4 PB1 model. One think though, when the extract fan turns on..it doesn't really do much at stationary status..the bike has to be moving for better worthiness.

Sorry..don't stock anything other than the stock radiator fan switch and as long as you can find a sensor temperature switch that has the same thread diameter (which are quite standard for most radiator) and senor body length, you should do alright..take your sample and go to car spare shop, tell them the range in temp cut-on you want..you likey get one that may suite.:sian:

Can explain the other method ?

Release thru the coolant hoses. The drain nut is too small for anything to come out (flow out)...moreover, taken out three times or more, the copper compress type washer ring need to be change (like those u find on new spark plugs).:sian:

That depends. If you get the concentrated type (normally pack in bigger ml and cost around $14)..that you have to mix but with "distilled" or "pure" water. 50/50 id recommended. More % of water, bike runs cooler but evaporation rate is higher. More coolant..its vice versa.

If you pick those up from kiosk..about $7 or so, those are already premixed..just pour in reserve tank and use. Careful though..the smaller bottle one at Mustaffah, Esso/Mobil, NTUC call "RAD-Cool" (something like that) and another call "DIAX"..thee are concentrated.:sian:

Coolanr system not cycling properly and is overheating. Did your fan cut on? Cause can be rusting of clog radiatot to faulty fan switch or thermostat.

On your radiator left hand side..there is a radiator sensor fan switch..ground it to see if the fan comes on..if the fan comes on..that switch is bad.

thanks for the advice? but how come it will boil ? i still dun get it ..

i'm trying to understand the prob so pardon me for asking so much ..adds to my learning ...

means that the faulty cap is causing the hot fluid to boil ? is the fan independent of the whole configuration ? cos it doesn't seem to come on...

just went to bike shop to service up my bike ....

flushed and changed coolant ....

guess how long it ttok bros............fking 2 hours!!!

and why ?????????????????/

i was sitting ard thinking why it has been 45 mins since the mechanic started flushing my bike and changing coolant but how come it's not ready yet ..

when i walked over, the mechanic was knocking my key onto the handlebar ..

he claimed that the hiss is preventing the key from being recognised ..

asked me for another spare key which i dun hve with me ...

then he told me that the bike can't start ...so he con't knocking the key

troubleshooting.....i was like wtf!! i own my bikes for fking 5 years and send in my bike now for a flush and this **** happens....so i sat there and wait out ...see what he does...

he con't to on and off the bike, hoping for my bike to recover ...

1hr and 15 min into the wait, i can't take it le ..i walk over again to see...this time, they took our a square unit from the bike and swop it with another super 4 to try to start my bike ,...to no avail .....then to my next horror, i saw my headlight dangling by the wire .....wtf!!! can't u even put it back properly before u do anything ...are u stupipd!!!

i can only stand there and watch ...next to my horror, they pry open the key to take out the chip ............wtf!!!

iin the end, they managed to start the bike..i didn't know how he managed to la. .so i went over to question him.........the mechanic answered " i also dunnno leh, can ask my tao chiu (head mechanic)..."

faint...so i went over and talk to the tao chiu ...then he said, oh, got some prob with the sensor and wiring ..lucky u came to us ..if not breakdown half way got to tow ....

i was like $%^&%$#%^&* .....it's you guys ****ing cause the prob ...now become my bikes' fault ...

nvm...i'm chill today....so i paid the fking $$ and rode off ...then realise something...the headlight wasn't working after they service ...

so i went back ...and the guy give me the ? mark face....then came back to me..." boss, the buld burst le" ..

i shoot him back..just now when i came, it was alright , now how come it burst ....then he said because it was on for long period of time, maybe that's why it burst...and the only long period of time i can think of is when they keep on and off the bike jus to troubleshoot ....then he said " boss that will be $10 .....i pay for your fault ...

suppose to be a chill off day, now ****ing angry ....

to think i went to that shop because i used to frequent it's branch for EO change ...... ....no more man ,....

Did you hear boiling of coolant at the reserve tank or any sign of leakage of coolant anywhere? What is the colour of your coolant..milo brown?
