ok thankss..how often do we have to check the reserve?distill water right?boil water first then put eh..haha

I check the most twice a year. If ur coolant system is ok..once a year ok liao..level oso hardly drops (depend on coolant type). Distilled or "Pure" water can just get from Supermarket.

hi Kev, ur problem related to mine. same coolant brand & same prob not even a rusts or leak... Yesterday i went to Racewerk motorshop to rectify the prob. My radiator cap rubber was faulty and got it replaced. i paid $73 for the OEM cap, ipone coolant 2bottles + labour.

Ah Pek once again thnks for ur feedback. bf i went to motorshop, i check the reserve tank & is empty again. b4 i move off, top up water till the upper lvl. but now got a new problem :faint: WHEN i did a high rev, chain or bearing sound been heard at the rhs engine cover. not sure what it is. this coming sat will go back to the shop again.

hmm.. I open the right cover to view the reservoir the day after, and the level seems to be fine liao leh...

all gone back to upper level indication.

will tk note on the radiator cap thou. thanks.

Guys, can anyone explain how the fan at the radiator actually works?....just installed a led to light on if the fan start....been riding and notice that the fan will kick in only after quite sometime..(guess its normal rite as the temperature goes up)..but the thing is...the fan like turn on for 1min or so then turn off....now is that normal?....

Then after i reach home the fan turn on..is it ok to turn off the engine when the fan is still running or should wait till the fan turn off?

Guys, I've just top up my coolant(the white container at the right side) two days ago. I accidentally filled it to the brim and did nothing to it after that. Today I checked, the coolant has gone down to below the halfway mark. Is there something wrong wit my radiator? I checked so far no leaking. Wat can be the cause of it drying up so fast? TIA.

i think i'm in love with a Bol'dor.

It could be that before u top up..your coolant system at the water jacket (around the engine) could have been half dried and now been filled and thus the level drop in your reserve tank. The other possibility is that the radiator cap may be leaking due to the pressure tight rubber seal harden. You have to take off ur tank and access the radiator cap..take if off and check to see if the rubber seal is harden or cracked. If so..coolannt when hot and pressure builds up..they evaporated thru there. Btw..do this only when ur engine is COOL!

Havent try to use water wetter yet but make sure the engine ice is purple in colour when u purchased it. If it's blue, it is not engine ice but rather 'ice engine' and is a different product totally. :)

Thats something new to me. I didnt knew got 2 types. Lol...

Maxima Coolaide also good right? Btw talking about this, at any bikeshop if i wanna change coolant, do they always practice mixing with water? Cus i notice most bikeshops, they will always add water one. Be it engine ice or coolaide or some other brand. Its suppose to add water or just the coolant itself?

Bro, tapwater will develop rusts. That time I did coolant flush with Ah pek he showed me all the rusts that have been accumulated due to tap water usage by bikeshops. You can use distilled water or de-ionised water though as a coolant as it has been processed.

I think any shops will use tap water unless u tell them not to. I suggest you buy extra coolant or brng along a bottle of distilled water when u do coolant flush next time.

Bro, tell me about it man. It's so hot that I installed a fan switch and always on my fan. I'm not sure whether it is good or bad for the radiator. Btw, u send ur bike to boon siew for servicing is it?

I usually go to unique motorsports for basic EO and oil filter change, tyres and chains/sprox. Thats all. Based on my past xperience with them, i wont let them touch the insides of my bike and engine.

Now i go to Combine Motors as recommended by Fazli. Although abit far for me and the price abit steep, their workmanship is way better.

How about you?

Btw if i go shop and service my coolant, they will use 1 bottle of maxima coolaide and mix with tap water am i right?

So when i tell them not to add water, they will use 2 to 3 bottles of coolaide i suppose?
