"Gimme Fuel, Gimme Fire, Gimme That Which I Desire, Ooh!"

Hi Guys, I am currenly riding the 2009 ER-6F for about 3 weeks now clocking about 700kms. The F is the full-faired version with ABS that brought into our shores.

My verdict after riding the bike as follows:

Looks:

Fell in love with it straight after viewing it at loois. I had several other bikes in mind, but they were all blown away by this bikes' looks. Lime green is the color to go for. Great loud color to go with a clean & mean looking bike. IMO, theres no other bike as sexy as this in its category for the price range. Price?

Price:

My ER-6F otw is $18K. Machine price $14.8k. It is slightly more expensive than other common 600cc out there (eg FZ6, Diversion6, GSR600).

Fuel:

Tank is small comparing to my previous bike, S4. Full tank is slightly more than 11 litres (maybe more coz I will fill up as soon as the fuel warning light comes on). Full tank will take you 175km. Averaging a milage of 15-16km/litres. Quite high consumtion IMO.

Accesories:

Pretty much hard to find. But I have already installed the Ermax tail tidy from Motorworld, Rim Stickers (cheap ones), Did my hard run-in on the Dyno at HKL, and planning to get the no cut Frame Slider from Motorworl, axle and fork sliders from Equipment Xtreme. Afterwhich, Slip-onsss!!! Anyone knows which shop carries them? Arrow? haha..

Riding:

I had no problems adjusting from riding my S4 to this bike. I was amazed at how fluid the transition was. The power delivery is much like off road bikes (maybe its all in the head due to the simillar exhaust note to off road bikes). Torque is healthy low to mid revs. I have tried it only to about 7-8k rpm, which is where the peak torque is. The bike is amazingly light & agile. Just point to where your going and twist the throttle more!! Rider seat is narrow. Will forsee slight discomfort arrising if ridden for long. The pillion has a better ride with wider seats. Overall bike dimensions is slim, camparable or slightly slimmer than the S4. Its an ease lane splitting in heavy traffic.

Overall:

Great commuter bike with bad ass ninja looks. The downside; exhaust note is more like a phantom + DRZ. Gotta get the aftermarket slip-on if you are bothered by it. Ther's little under seat storage. Its enugh only for the tool kit, riding gloves, cleaning cloths, & riding papers.

Will update more when I have more ride time on this beauty!

I chanced upon a msian riding the ER6N at LAB a few weeks ago. He mentioned that he hit 210km/hr without any problems adding that his friend using a yoshi pipe managed 220km/hr. Has anyone tried out the top speed of this bike after full run-in period?

I think there are about twenty plus units of ER6N in singapore since 06' till now. Its a shame that the 09" model for ER6N didn't come in, restyled and new mapping. The Versys is a more popular choice than the ER6. Congrats on getting a bike you can appreciate.

So after 4000kms on the bike and services at 800km, 2000km & 4000kms, I am so addicted to riding this bike.

Servicing:

The first and second service done at Evershine at 800 and 2000kms is relatively cheap at $51.20 and $41.03 respectively. The breakdown of parts as follows:

Oil filter: $19.35

Engine Oil: $9.50 X 2 or 3 Bottle Mineral based (Yeah 2litres of Oil is enugh :p)

At 4000kms, switched to semi synthetic at $18/bottle, amounting to $78.48

So, tats all for servicing at the moment. Will be going again at 8000kms, at which i have to pay for workmanship already (quoted $20++) :faint:

Top Speed:

Very fast very QUICK..

Close Calls:

Thanks for the ABS on this baby, it saved my life twice..

1st incident: Wet morning along Thompson rd opp Mt Alvernia Hospital, a car from the filter lane on the left cuts into my lane. Immediately jammed the brakes, ABS kicked with the brakes shuddering to a halt. Thank god there wasnt any cars behind.

2nd incident: Junction of Yishun Ave 5 and Ave 2. Same situation as mentioned above. This time, managed to show (hand sign) my disgust to the driver for his rash driving.

Wouldnt be so lucky if not for me slowing down prior to the incidents on both occasions.

Accesories:

Nothing much done except for DIY Dynamx voltmeter. Unfortunately, the No-cut slider I was intending to get at motorworld is for 08 model. Guess have to wait longer for accesories available in sg. Endcan? Still waiting again for the Scorpion paperworks to be firmed up.

Milage:

Yeah, finally got a constant milage of 18.7-19km/litres. Pump Esso 95 all the way and might be switch to 98 to see the difference in milage. Stay tune for updates
