I went to pick up my Katoom today from dirt wheel. Haven't seen it for 2 days and already missing it. It was out for test ride after tweaking with the setting, so didn't see the bike when I arrived.

I tested the monster after it arrived, I could immediately feel that the response of the bike had been improved. Oh well, can't tell much since it only two rounds the car park

So I took off after some rest (Evening tea time), the transmission of the fuel and the gear response have changed. It's a lot smoother... no "surging" at low speed, take off fast, overtake fast, all very smoothly.... I begin to :D :slurp: Off I go, hit the expressway, and gas off

There were vast different after changing the setting... I can't stop :D all the way... The monster work like a gem... a polished one.... just can't stop :D Some many *grin* I feel like a silly cow cos katoom is just so nice to ride :D Sorry guys, can't help :D

Sorry, tot the LC4 is yr answer which makes me :giddy:

Was told that the R1150GS is not very comfortable @ low speed, just wonder if you experience same on 950. Remember "lacing" bike usually surge at low speed, or tt's only applicable for carb bike. FI lacing bike surge?

Cloudrider, pls don't feel obligated to reply, really sorry to bother you.

Thanks anyway.

Passenger's opinion, tt's very helpful & quite disappointed to hear tt, hope yr passenger will get use to it.

hi SDR,

here's the passenger again: the pillion experience on the whole ain't that bad at all, its q pleasurable and smoother than our previous bike which i loathed to say bye to. its just that, as suzu said, it takes getting used to. i don't think it'd be long before the double H - Heat and Height - which are causing me some grief now would be neglible. Cloudrider added that Dirt Wheels did a great job with the re-setting he was grinning all over about and its even smoother now. I haven't had a spin on the re-set katoom yet, i'll take his word for it that its smoother, and will update you on it! its so nice that you asked for passenger opinion  Well, who knows, maybe i might report the Double H as Double Happiness after my next ride :cheer:

Before you change your pipes, may I suggest that you change your sprokets to lower the ratios. You'll get better drive and smoother engine braking. A cheaper option for another performance gain. :thumb:

More Poison.....

The 950 Adventure kit includes a billet Scotts triple clamp, Sub mount Stabilizer, handlebar mounts locating the bars 5mm higher and 18mm forward from stock. This same kit is used by the factory KTMs in the Dakar Rallye and endorsed by Scot Harden and Jimmy Lewis, both multiple time Dakar riders. The kit includes a key adaptor that retains the stock key lock, cable guide adaptor, frame bracket, perches, stabilizer and all hardware including detailed, step by step, pictured instructions. This kit requires drilling out the stock security bolts in the key switch but we provide the procedure to accomplish this fairly easy operation.

Here is a closer view of the SUB mount (Stabilizer Under Bars) for the 950 showing how compact and out of the way the entire kit is allowing use of GPS or rallye equipment. The production triple clamps are anodized black.

Here is a picture of the actual winning Dakar Rallye bike, shown with the Scotts Stabilizer in place. As you can tell this bike is loaded with hi-tech equipment. This bike comes from the factory with Stabilizer mounts

No choice, got a riding partner to consider, if not - R1 will be my 1st choice.

Hey, really thanks for the passenger's feedback, think butt training is quite important, on our last weekend trip to KL, wife told me that pain on her butt is very min as compare to our previous trip, as for me, I don't feel any pain at all & this is the time I don't feel any pain after "re-tour" last year and had done 11,000km since Feb (was supposed to go Cameron HL on Feb 05 but fail as 1 very simple, small bearing took almost 2months to arrive Spore & milige then was 119,000km, now almost 130,000km).

Enjoy yrs.
