Hey CloudRider,

More for your stockings. You got the fireplace, the couch, the pudding and the slippers.... now lets not forget the pipes :cheeky:

http://www.ktmcycles.com/2006/Adventure/951545[1].jpg

Factory KTM/FMF 950 ADV Silencers, weighing in at 10.2lbs ( unconfirm weight of stock is 22lbs ), great sound at 96db(A) and will lightened your load by US$610. Here, I've even got the part number for Santa : U6951.545.

What are friend's for right :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

Hee hee It should be surfacing if this FMF pipe is street legal  Santa can install the pipe on the sledge if it has an engine on it... KTM Sledge kekeke...

http://www.ktmcycles.com/2006/Adventure/59512030100_plug.jpg

From the first look it look like some toy or cone for road block. Oh yes, this is for the mouth of the pipe when washing the bike, stock pipe opening faces at an elevated angle that water can splash in if not careful. I always try to avoid spraying water when near the pipe. Must remember to REMOVE IT after washing if using this stopper!!!

Hey SDR,

I finally found out what this is:

http://www.ktmcycles.com/2006/Adventure/59512030100_plug.jpg

Its call a large exhaust plug, for keeping the water out of your pipes when you're washing ze bike.

Cloudy, for you, at US$4.95, part number: 595.12.030.100

This is cute, tot it is an earplug for rider initially, hahaha.

Last Saturday, saw the France Guy on his 400cc KTM at 2ndlink, hmm, seem like BMW rider 2nd option is KTM. But not me, after much consideration, KTM Adventure is not for me, i m not an adventurous guy & most important of all, I am not a rich guy. Thanks for all the info you great guys hv provided.

:cheeky:

On my way to Malacca on last Sat, saw a few riders riding solo, a silver K1200RS with Red/White/Silver Rallye II full suit, a dark blue ST1100, a 100th Anniversary HD roadking, a silver / black R1200GS fully loaded, the rider is damn fierce, only a white T-Shirt & jeans. Weather is really bad.

Beef noodle, I love it and it is the 1st time my wife emptied it, she usually don't finish the soup in Spore. It could be we are damn :hungry: or it must be damn good.

Weather was really bad, the visibility on some part of NSE was almost zero, worst with tinted visor.

Sure, keep in touch.

KTM gone loco :cheeky:

http://www.motorcyclenews.com/jpeg/371/8936568.jpeg

MCN November 24 2005

Mad three-wheel concept

Scandinavian firm Brudeli has launched an intriguing three-wheeled off-roader that they claim combines the benefits of a quad with the agility of a bike.

The 625L is based on a KTM supermoto with the normal rear end but uses the firm’s own design for the front end. It has two quad-like wheels to provide stability but the bike can still lean in to bends like it only has two wheels.

The lean system is not linked to how much the bike is turning like in many multi-wheeled bike concepts so it is still possible to countersteer and slide the rear on dirt.

The 625L also gets wide quad-like footboards that stay level with the ground even if the bike is leant right over potentially making for a machine that is very hard to fall off.

Hey Guys,

Carb or FI ?

Any refinements to the FI will be software related so no problems with upgrading. The Duke has 3 mapping alternatives already.

Carbs work better than injectors. It's important to get a good mix of air/fuel throughout the combustion chamber. When the inlet valve opens, atmospheric pressure (1 bar) pushes through the carb venturi filling the cylinder with a good mix of air/fuel. Injectors are not as good at this, if they are small enough to spray (Atomise) a fine mist at low RPM.... at high RPM they spray into a closed inlet valve area to get enough fuel. Remember that the inlet timing is open just over 25% of 4 stroke cycle. If the injectors are big enough for high RPM then they spray big droplets at low RPM and have poor atomisation

The importance of a good mix should not be underestimated for producing power. I speculate that this may be the reason to increase the engine size.

Unfortunately we will not see the big mileage increases that are possible with FI as Cats require 14.7:1 at light throttle cruse to keep nitrogen levels down.

The twin butterflies in each throttle body will eliminate any chance of fitting an after market programmable engine management system such as Haltech to improve things. It won't matter what you do with the throttle hand the computer will control the second butterfly !!!! There will be no easy way to disconnect the EPC system this time.

Get them before they are gone!

I miss carb !!! :weep:

Hmmm.... I'm thinking of.....
