My experience:-

Don’t bother to do anything. Scrapping and rubbing will only make thing worse by leaving scratch marks on the surface finishing. Continue to ride the bike, the hot/cold cycles will burn off the plastic and it will drop eventually without your notice:thumb:

start the bike and wait for the engine to heat up... then scrape off the chunks with the flat edge of a plastic ruler... the ruler shouldn't scratch the exhaust since its plastic

there will be black stains on the exhaust so u will need to use brasso or something similar to polish it

there are some other websites which recommend using oven cleaner to remove the plastic but i never try before so cannot comment on that

I had a similiar experience too, canvas melted.

When hot, the plastic will be soft, like blue-tack.

Scape off as much as you can.

There will still be the dark stains, which have to be polished off bit by bit.

Also best to do so when hot.

Just be careful not to burn yourself.

Use wooden ice cream stick will be better.

Will not melt, cheap and disposable.

I face this problem time after time  ,as my pillion always leaves plastic/rubber marking on my exhaust while mounting or while resting footwear onto it.

What i've done is use autosol to remove it.

Method:

- Apply a dunlop of autosol onto the affected area (make it greasy)

- With the cap of the autosol cover it with a cloth and apply slight force on the affected area.

- Apply sumore force if the stain remains.Best is to start from the edge of the plastic stain to the core of it.

- Lastly polish the result.Hope that helps :thumb:

I beg to differ as this is my personal experience:

Canvas was melted onto the hot exhaust header(only 2wks old!). I tried to rub it off but only made it worse. As I was in a hurry, I left the bike to cool off.

Came back later to find the canvas/plastic cooled and hardened. To my surprise, I managed to scrap off most of it with my fingernail.

So do it cold so it wun get smeared all over..

Hi bro,you can try to do this.

Get the bike to run cool down completely.

Use somthing wooden or a wooden ruler to scrape of the burnt hardened plastics.

than get the exhuast hot, spray some 4wd,let it sit for a while use a clothe to wipe it,do that 1-2 times.

after when most of the plastic is clearly gone.

just spray a coat of 4wd,and clean it.

when cooled down, use autosol to polish.

hope it helps.
