Sorry for repost. I thought i should post my questions again in this new page in case no ones scrolls back to the last and read it.

"Hi guys. There are a few things i wish to do to my bike when i first get it. Early stages i won't do anything major but please add in any suggestions as to what i could do. I'm looking for better fuel consumption and a smoother ride but at the same time not willing to give up on power n torque.

1. Dynojet run in

2. Revtec

3. Raceshield

4. Broquet ( Does this thing actually work? I'm getting mixed reviews )

5. K&N air filter ( need to retune? If yes, need power commander, i will put this on hold. )

6. Belly pan

7. Engine brace

Can anyone advise me, estimate how much i should set aside for these few items. Thanks!"

for peeps who using revo. i like to noe y is my frens revo top speed is onli 150? N

his high rev at neutral is onli 10rpm?

bike is stock just with end can. any feed back?

throttle ok bro free play not that much.. is there any other problem?

Sounds like my experience with my previous. Read what I did here

Short answer possibilities: Could be due to poor run-in by previous owner. Bike not pushed hard at all previously. Injectors clogged. Chain issues.

Be wary of the source of information for your bike's maintenance. Some FAQs are compiled by people who lack the technical know how.

The Revo is already a "smooth ride". Throttle response is good. All that is needed then is good throttle inputs from the rider.

If you are looking for better fuel consumption, just stay below VTEV activation RPM, ie 6,250. Smooth riding without unnecessary braking and good gear change intervals will give you good consumption. However, if you ONLY ride at low RPMs, it is unhealthy for your engine in the long run.

Here are my personal views:

1. Dynojet run in - Good. See @SparkerS1 post on the Revo FAQ thread. Call shop to ask for price.

2. Revtec - No comments. I'm not using and don't intend to.

3. Raceshield - See point 1.

4. Broquet ( Does this thing actually work? I'm getting mixed reviews ) - No comments. I'm not using and don't intend to.

5. K&N air filter ( need to retune? If yes, need power commander, i will put this on hold.) - No need re-tune.

6. Belly pan - Waste money. Cosmetic "upgrade". For me, it's a downgrade as ground clearance is reduced.

7. Engine brace - Also known as Crash Bar. Must have. Just make sure it is not mounted onto the engine.

Edit: Raceshield - See posts on previous page. Looks like you're not doing any "homework", mate!

Hi, I just bought a 2nd hand FBE plate Super 4 Revo with a mileage of 11k++. I believed mine is the 1st batch of the Revo version as the engine casing is silver in colour.

So my question is: I recently heard from a mechanic that there are some water pump problems for the 1st batch of this Revo version. How true is this and any experiences from fellow riders?

Thank you.

Bro meter is waterproof leh, i suspect they exchange the original meter with chiong one cos original meter is very expensive
thanks bro, i knw that its waterproof. i suspected that they changed it too.. will definitely ask for my original one..

anyway, any of you guys using LV slip-on on their revo?

Its not how fast your speeding is.. Its how fast your reactions are:cool:

1. Dynojet run-in? Its dyno break-in aka hard break-in aka dyno machine run-in.

3. Prices varies thru different package and choices.

4. No comments. I rather use fuel addictives.

5. K&N air filter no need tune anything, power commander is needed if tuning required for bikes wif aftermarket air filter wif full system exhaust.

6. Waste of money and traps road debris.

any idea where can i find super 4 spec 3

Bikes shops and SBF Used bike section.

IMO I rather get a new Revo........

needa consider replacement of wear/tear components, aging bike & parts, COE left, maintenance from previous owner etc.......

Wear & Tear consist of bleeding brake fluid, check brake hose, normal servicing... (spark plug, EO, Oil FIlter, Air filter), fork oil, suspension, battery, wirings, tires, chain & sproc, brake pads, bearings etc..........

Paying so much might as well spend a bit more for Revo, new technology, EFI, better material and quality, also must take into considerations like engine wear/tear, COE expiring date etc for used bikes.

Spec 3 wat i feel tat it has been marked up due to the price increase of Revo, better parts/quality, higher workmanship/production prices of Revo.

Do your calculations and see which one is worth it to buy, its personal preference.

Mine is an FBD plate Dec 2008 - first batch. I bought it second hand with 63k km on the clock. Been pushing it hard. Water pump is original unit. No issues.

i read from racewerk's thread regarding tuning of REVO.

on their thread, they mentioned that they have came up with 3 tuning parameters

"In short, we had devised 3 parameters,

1) Fuel Economy, be it a stock bike or piped/air filtered mod.

2) Balanced Tune, fully utilising the machine potential and optimise fuelling all across the ranges, from 0-100% throttle, idling thru redline.

3) Power-Rama, power in concern only.... horse run, horse must eat grass...

We had gauged the fuel consumption for the tune 1 & 2 to an average, they were better than the stock fuelling , yet with more power and drive."

Guys anyone had tired on the power comander 5?? what is the pros and cons of it???

Pro: this device is meant to adjust the A/F ratio of the bike via the mapping loaded.

Con: .............

Pls ref back to the Revo FAQ link........

Been typing too much similiar stuffs over & over again.......

Thanks for ur understanding :)

Duno my love for revo can overcome the heat not. :p

Compared it to cls 2 bike, Revo is way "cooler" , maybe i used to riding Revo despite the heat, or is it? :p

haha..A tank bra will save your balls !!!

haha. no offence but personally i think tankbra kills the look of that macho fuel tank. =) and is the heat coming from the tank? or from the engine, exhaust, etc?

hope engineice helps bring down the temperature alot!

yhang23 u still got how long more till 2a?

not till june this year. =( why?

guess i will find out whether i can stand it only when i get to try out the new REVOs at BBDC! =P yum yum.

this one dedicated for you and me =)

from SparkerS1 FAQ thread!

"Better Understanding From Everyone Here...Difference between Revtev & Power Abuser

Revtec : Benefits

- Increase Torque/Power

- Increase Throttle Responsivesness

- Improve Battery Charging System

- Improve Fuel Efficiency

- Smoother Gear Change

- Minimize Engine Vibration

Power Abuser : Benefit

1. Improved Lighting Visibility

2. Electronic Lifespan Extended

3. Better Fuel Economy

4. Reduce engine braking

5. Improve Torque, Power & Response

6. Stablized Idle & Improved Engine Kick Over

7. Improved Engine Response"

Hope SparkerS1 or the rest can shed some light here.

Seems both products roughly have the same benefits, which one better?( let's say both save petrol, which one save more? etc. )

price-wise?

1) PowerAbuser - Reduce Engine Brake, is it a good thing? does it mean its harder to brake using engine brake?

2) I see that u use Power Abuser 2 and Power Abuser IGNITE. Why you got 2!?? different?

The running Temp of the bike.

driving school bikes runs hotter as riding in a closed circuit.

1. In fact easier to engine brake, will not have tat harsh of engine braking feel

2. for ignite, been yrs back tat i couldnt recall its properties already :p

Save fuel or not wise, cannot see much of a big diff, other factors; riding style affects FC as well.

WOT all the time, dun expect to save much fuel wif such gadgets.

Price wise, time for u to do some research in the advertiser threads
