Hi brosss. Wanna ask u all wat is the recommend voltage its time to change battery? My voltage frm 14.1 n now it decrease to 13.8 when riding. Thnx

As long as not below 13.5V, it's alright.

vtec headers can fit all version of vtec is it?

Nope, Revo is diff.

Only Vtec Spec 1-3 same header size.

Hi... Has anyone installed a givi windshield on revo?

Bought a750 from shop as was told this fits revo but after I went home, realized it doesn't quite fit headlights bcos of the headlight bar supporting speedo and tacho.

Would anyone know if I need to mod or change the headlight so that it can fit?

Check the fitting & screws again?

Cos this kinda thing is not approved fixture for the bike from the manufacturer, might not fit nicely.

Try adjusting again. As long as not vibrating when riding will do.

Yes, racewerks still do have the dyno system with them. I dial up to ask for further information regarding the hard break in but was told to drop in before they could advise me.

Where did you dyno yours since you didn't use either of the shop's dyno? you did a normal break in?

Thanks for the update. I didn't do any break in as I bought a used bike.

13.8 while riding is normal. As @SparkerS1 said, if while riding it drops below 13.5v something might be wrong.

When you switch to "On" and without starting, it should read:

12.5v with headlights Off.

12.4v with headlights On.

Sometimes it might read just 12.3v without starting. Read the FAQ about riding distances, speed and battery charging.

Just collected my revo this evening. Nvr felt more comfortable!

It's a damn solid bike to ride!

Hope to join you guys on outings in future!

Hello people,

I got two problems which i need your experts advices.

1) Few days ago, while i was riding at expressway, my PGM-FI indicator is lighted. But i ignore it and went straight home. Den i realised when i stop, my bike timer was below zero. This happen twice.

2) After the indicator incident and few days later, i noticed that my bike timer will stop 2 for about three seconds and slowly gradually stop at 1.5 whenever i stop for traffic light or whatever reason that need to stop the bike. I tried to rev slightly the bike when idling and it still stop at 2 and slowly drop to 1.5.

Anyone encounter these issue before? please do advice me. I hope my injector is not spoilt.

Can I kindly ask for stock gear ratio, what's your RPM at 100km/h?

I'm running at 6.5k at 100kM. Thing is, my bike is pre-owned and the previous owner did a 520 conversion. (i do not think the conversion should alter the gear ratio). However, I tried counting the rear teeth, but just couldnt get it right. Haha

So here I am, asking the "standard" rpm at 100km/h, so if mine's not standard, I'm going to set it back..

Thanks everybody!

hey guys. Would kindly need some help over here in the riding position and helmets. I wanna get a new helmet and was doing some "homework" so i do not end up getting crappy goods and buying wrong helmet for the riding position. Firstly a noob question - what category is Revo riding position classified into? Upright or 3/4? cuz there's a lean to riding this bike and not to that degree of a sports bike. Secondly, any recommendation for helmets? currently looking at AGV k4 evo or some mid range pricing. Would be glad if some you experienced ppl could be of help.

Your bike is ok. I've got the 520 conversion done on my bike too. If I were you, I wouldn't go back to stock. Dollar for dollar, 520 conversion is one of the best mods anyone can do for their bikes. Even class 2 sportsbike riders do it. This is because it offers better throttle response due to losing the weight in the chain and sprockets set. One S4 rider even said "like having a turbo" fitted!

Google "rotational mass" for more info on this.

Revo is considered a commuter/touring bike. The stock riding position is mostly upright with a slight forward lean if you sit further back once you gain some speed.

As for helmet, what's your budget? My personal view is that there is no price one can put on my head, so safety first. Buying a good helmet from the start and taking care of it is also cheaper than buying some cheap helmet that doesn't last or doesn't do what it's supposed to do.

As I ride on a daily basis and also do some long distance touring, I chose a flip up helmet. It's a Caberg Syntesi 2. Bought it for $450 2 years ago. The internal lining needs to be replaced (can be done at Eugene Saddlery for a few red notes).

If you compare the Caberg Syntesi 2 with Caberg's cheaper Justissimo or another model that is also cheaper, the construction is much better with the Syntesi 2. Basically, you get what you pay for.

A fellow biker has a Shoei Syncrotec he has been wearing since 1998. Another biker who bought a HJC flip complained about water dripping down the top of his head when it rains.

I don't have any such problems with my Caberg. Just wish it was a little bit more quiet. So I'm in the market for the new Shoei Neotec currently sold for about $650 at Regina. Might wait a while for the price to come down a bit.

http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcycle-helmets/motorcycle-helmets.htm generally has good reviews on helmets. No bullshit.

Another factor to consider is whether your helmet of choice pass the helmet safety tests. Forget about PSB standards. Look at the following sites:

I remember front is 16T & rear is 44T for stock.

From my understanding, any changes in the number of teeth will not affect your speedo reading (sensor located on output shaft) but the actual speed (i.e. GPS speed).

thanks ramsnake.

I checked in with my mech as well. He was mentioning that although with a stock setup, the petrol savings due to a lower RPM at cruising will probably be negated by the heavier chains and sprockets (525 ones). (i thought this made some sense)

however, i think it will be somewhat a "saving" if I can change the rear back to 44T while still retaining the 520 setup. That means I can only go for an aftermarket rear sprocket?

any thoughts about this?

@LeoWai I'm not too sure, but given the distance travelled with each rotation of the wheel, the change in distance of the chain covered for each given speed is longer now (due to the increased number of "teeth" on the sprocket, with no change in the circumference of the tire)

I would think that the speedo error will be larger the bigger the sprocket goes; your speedo will probably show a lower speed at a higher RPM, while the true speed should not change..

not too sure about that and if I'm giving wrong information here, I'll remove it though.. (as i'm also learning..just want the best for my bike and myself!)

Thanks lot for the information. Yea it all comes down to the safety of a riders head. A little investment on it would not hurt if for a good choice. I looking more into the mid range helmet..due to my own budget. Probably nothing more than the 350 ish range. I've been using some crappy free helmet gotten from my previous ride. Now only that i realize how irritating that helmet is. Doesn't fit my head size, wrong size most prob.. having lot of rooms that causes the helmet to be pushed backwards and when strong wind follows, my head will be dragged along sometimes the helmet even move left and right. I guess its a major prob now.

Had went to motorworld to see their HJC flip up. Are all flip ups that heavy? Yet to try on one though. Would appreciate not having open face helmet, too much air flow coming up from the visor is kind of hazard for me (hair been blown allover, causing low vision), maybe it just the helmet im using right now. Anyway, would wanna get a full face/flip up.

So now that i know the exact riding position of S4, i got to go look for helmets for such riding position in order to get a better ventilation. I would doubt that AGV K4 Evo would suit in this case now? It is fullface but more to a 3/4 riding.

Yea having rain dripping down the helmet isn't a favor for riders. As good as not wearing any.

Did u used a spray jet or went to a bike wash center with spray jet to wash ur bike before? I am suspecting a short circuit T.P.S. (Throttle Positioning Sensor).

What are the Symptoms of a Faulty TPS?

Stalling

Irregual idle

RPM Drop while acclerating or trying to maintain a constand speed.

Drop in fuel Mileage

Poor Throttle Response

If u manage to find these fault... recommend u to first use an air dryer to blow dry ur tps first... Jus in case it is water that causes short circuit... if not then no choice... jus change one will do. Dun go authorise dealer change unless u r rich... they will recommend u change ur entire throttle body @ 1800+- (around this price) jus go normal shop will do. Expect the tps to be around 180

Your mechanic is right. Going back to 525 chain set would not give you better consumption figures. In fact I think it would be worse.

Though I've done the 520 conversion, I stuck to 15F/44R. My best consumption is about 20-20.1km/L.

The reason why I stuck to 44R was because I wanted to feel the difference in throttle response in the Revo. I would probably go to 45 teeth in the rear by end of the year.

As far as fuel consumption goes, 1 tooth up or down wouldn't make much of a difference. Fuel consumption is more about how you ride e.g do you rev to high revs before changing gears (high consumption). If you mostly maintain RPM at about 6,000rpm, you will improve your consumption numbers. That said, if you stick to 4th or 5th gear when you really should be using 3rd gear, you end up burning more fuel because you are not at the optimum gearing for that particular stretch of road.

As for speedometer speed vs. GPS speed, Racewerks have found that with the 520 conversion, speedometer error dropped from 10% (stock) to about 3% (520 conversion). I'm not sure if they mentioned what sprocket size they used. Do check out their thread.

Yea having rain dripping down the helmet isn't a favor for riders. As good as not wearing any.

Bottom line is get the best helmet for the budget you have. Do shop around. My view is that riding position doesn't have much bearing on the helmet choice. Most important factor is fit, comfort and visor quality. Cheap $30 helmets that pass PSB tests have crap visor optic quality. To me, these really shouldn't be allowed on the road because if you can't see clearly, you're bound to crash one day.

Open face helmets are a no no for me, no matter how hot our weather is. Have you seen pictures of riders with open face helmets after a crash? Imagine your lower jaw scrapping the tarmac at some speed and you'll get the picture.

When on the move, a good helmet would provide all the ventilation we need. It is still hot mind you, but then we make the conscious choice to be bikers right? When stuck in traffic, we can always crack open the helmet visor a bit for extra ventilation.

Happy shopping!

Sorry haven't had time to answer this. @viewpanel is right. If it is the TPS, save money and go to Unique. Not sure if other workshops carry the aftermarket TPS.

I have a theory about faulty TPS with a video to prove it. Just don't have time to upload yet. Anyway, to all bros here. If your bike comes with the 3 breather hoses disconnected, please get them re-installed. I believe most TPS faults (actually only a few seen in this forum) are caused by water dripping down the tank onto the TPS.

How much will it cost for the 520 conversion? Very tempting. Currently using a custom made fast throttle, pick up is awesome but I guess with the conversion it would be even better. Rough estimation on the cost please, thx!
